By chance I happened to see this bunglow when I was in belgaum. Located centrally in Tilak wadi, near gate no 1 overlooking a nice garden.
Was wondering about its past when I luckily ran into Mr Shahane taking a walk in the garden. He has been living here ever since. He enlightened me about its history. Barister Nath Pai had lived here during the congress andolan time.
Plots were distributed to various people on state level. A huge well known as Congress well is still in existence which provided water to the residents here.
There might be people who could throw more light on this subject. It is a shame we are letting this heritage property go to ruins.
At present it is in the ownership of a local industrialist. It will be a great endeavor to restore this property to its former glory and preserve as a heritage structure for posterity.
