CCIK Expresses Gratitude for Academic Session Change

Srinagar: The Chamber of Commerce and Industries Kashmir (CCIK) has officially thanked the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Omar Abdullah, and Education Minister Mrs. Sakeena Itoo for their decision to shift the academic session to November-December. In a statement, CCIK President Tariq Ghani highlighted that this significant change provides much-needed relief to parents and students throughout the Union Territory. The chamber also commended Mr. G.N. Var, Chairman of the Education Committee, for his dedicated efforts in advocating for this crucial adjustment with the government. CCIK emphasized that aligning the academic calendar with climatic conditions will greatly enhance the educational experience and overall well-being of students and families in the region.

Srinagar 15 Oct : The Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Kashmir (CCIK) on Tuesday congratulated the National Conference’s party President, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister-designate Omar Abdullah for the upcoming swearing-in ceremony.

In a statement issued to the news agency CNS, the CCIK Delegation expressed pride in Abdullah’s ongoing leadership, emphasising that under his guidance, the party has remained committed to the progress and welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Dr. Farooq Abdullah’s leadership has always been rooted in a deep connection with the people, a sense of history, and a vision for the future of Jammu and Kashmir. His contributions to the political landscape have been pivotal, and as his party embarks on this new journey, I have no doubt that the state will continue to thrive under his wisdom and direction,” the CCIK delegation remarked.

While highlighting Abdullah’s legacy, the CCIK delegation added, “Farooq Abdullah’s long-standing commitment to peace, development, and inclusivity has been unmatched. The citizens of Jammu and Kashmir look up to him for stability, and his leadership will be crucial in driving economic growth, improving public services, and fostering harmony among diverse communities.”

CCIK Welcomes PM Modi's Visit to Kashmir

JK Revolution, 20 June:- The President Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir (CCIK) Tariq Ghani warmly welcomes Prime Minister Modi's visit to Srinagar and his efforts in laying the foundation for transformative development projects.

CCIK delegates Led by President Tariq Ghani meet LG Sinha to discuss key issues

Highlight concerns regarding business settlement cases, infrastructure dev, tourism, ease of doing business

JK Revolution, 16 May:- The Chamber Commerce & Industries Kashmir (CCIK) office bearers team led by the President Tariq Ghani Vice President MM Husain and Junior Vice President Dr Imran Nazir called on the Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan.

The meeting was held as a review of the status of the issues discussed in previous meetings, the CCIK said in a statement, adding that the following issues were discussed:

CCIK suggested that a representative from it be included as a member of the Committee to present the viewpoint of the business community.

SRINAGAR SMART CITY PROJECT
The CCIK while welcoming the development and beautification projects undertaken by Srinagar Smart City Projects Limited expressed concern over delay in completing these projects The LG’s attention was Invited to the pitiable condition of City areas causing huge has inconvenience to traders and general public. The commuting time in these areas had increased manifold. The CCIK requested him to order early completion of the projects.

TOURISM
The CCIK sought Lt. Governor’s intervention in addressing tourism stakeholders problems in :
a) Renewal of tourism registration licenses of hotels /restaurants be brough under Single Window System in the spirit of “EASE OF DOING BUSINESS”. Presently the renewals take months and years due to cumbersome process of obtaining NOC’S from multiple departments.
b) The hotels and other associated services related to tourism be granted provisional renewal of registration certificates till the time others departments issue NOC’s to them.
c) permission for repairs, renovation & reconstruction of hotels in Pahalgham/ Gulmarg/ Sonamarg/LCMA and other areas.
D) Kashmir Tourism should be Promoted at International Level to attract International Tourism.

E) CCIK Delegation requested Lt Governor J&K Tourism should Promote New Destination in Kashmir for Tourism and Business Growth.

F) CCIK Delegation requested Lt Governor to Provide Some Places for Exhibition for Young Entrepreneurs for their encouragement and Business Growth.

G) As Government has already issued an industrial policy, The CCIK welcomes Industrial Policy but requested to be implemented in letter and spirit, So that People will get benefits and People will investment more in business.(JK Revolution)

Union Minister commended CCIK for its advocacy and invited its representatives to New Delhi

JK Revolution, 20 Apr:- Today, the Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri embarked on a significant visit to Kashmir, underscoring key concerns and advocating for inclusive development in the region. During the visit, President Tariq Ghani Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir (CCIK) raised pressing questions regarding power curtailment's adverse impacts on the business and education sectors, shedding light on its critical nature as a major issue.

Of notable concern was the exclusion of Shehr e Khaas from the smart city development initiative, leading to challenges and financial losses within the traders' fraternity. This exclusion not only affects businesses but also hampers the overall economic growth and vitality of the region.

In response to these concerns, the Union Minister commended CCIK for its advocacy and invited its representatives to New Delhi for comprehensive discussions on a range of issues, including traffic management, infrastructure development, power curtailment, and more. The Minister emphasized the need for a collaborative approach to address these challenges effectively.

Furthermore, CCIK reiterated the importance of integrating Kashmir into national development programs like Viksit Bharat, emphasizing that inclusive development should encompass all regions, especially those with unique challenges and potential for growth. They emphasized that Kashmir's progress must align with and benefit from such nationwide initiatives.
