this historic town.Thrissur's history dates back by stone age. Archeaological sites and monuments speak of its role in the history of Kerala and India. Its role in world trade dates back to 1st century AD.it was the bub through which the spices of the cast reached the west.This trade route made Thrissur culturally rich and exemplifies religious harmony. Temple architecture is unique with its use of wood carvings that belong to the saiva, Vaishnanva, and sakthi cults.It is also home to beautiful churches and ancient mosques.The vast farm lands supported steady supply of spices and other agri-products.thrissur is known for its jewellery and other crafts that are sold the world over. It is the hub of culture, banking,and healthcare in Kerala. Graced by hills,forests and waterfalls in the east,beaches and backwaters in the west and a central town that blends past spirituality and traditions with the rush of the modern,it is a destination waiting to be unravelled.
