RMI NITT Robotics and Machine Intelligence (RMI) is a student group of robotics enthusiasts based in NIT Tric

Robotics and Machine Intelligence (RMI) is a robotics and technical research club based in NIT Trichy. Formed in 2005, this is a club with robotics enthusiasts from all departments of the college. The prime focus of the club is on technical projects and competitions. The club handles Robovigyan (robotics events) of Pragyan, the annual tech fest of NIT Trichy. Lanka reloaded, a pick and place robot

ics event attracted over hundred participants in Pragyan 2012 and is one of the most successful and popular event of Pragyan. The club also conducts workshops on robotics and associated software throughout the year, inside and outside campus with a view to spread awareness and popularity about the advancing and exciting field of robotics to the student body. The robotics forum in facebook is an open forum for all to post questions about robotics and the members of RMI are always willing to lend a helping hand. 🎉 Celebrating Independence and Innovation: Welcoming RMI's Newest Talents! 🎉

On this momentous occasion, as we honor and remember the valor and dedication that has propelled our nation to unprecedented heights, we are delighted to celebrate our 78th Independence Day!

But that's not all - today, as we reflect on the incredible journey our country has traveled, we are also thrilled to introduce the newest members of the RMI family. We've added a dozen to our lot, the best of the best.

Congratulations! to the latest batch of inductees. Unfazed by the daunting tasks and grueling interviews, they have emerged victorious and proven their mettle, and are ready to take up new challenges. They came, they saw, they rode their bots!
Genesis '24, our flagship event for the freshers straight out school was a massive step up from our previous editions, and we are glad to report that the first years were very enthusiastic about it! The event had dedicated sessions on Mechanics, Electronics, Computer Vision, PCB Designing and Algorithmic Understanding with live demos taught and conducted by our humble little team :)

We hope that the freshers enjoyed their early dip into the pool of robotics, and we are beyond excited to meet some of these faces as we commence our inductions soon!

We had a spread, and it was delightful! Our Rover, Swarm robots, ROV, Hexapod and AR headset, along with our preliminary design prototypes for our Amphibian bot and Soft Robotic gripper were proudly presented after relentless days and nights at work.
We are also very proud of our AR headset team - MedVisor for bagging the first place in Sangam Healthcare division.

Safe to say, Pragyan x Scient exhibition 2024 was a massive success for each one of us at RMI with a multitude of visitors, alums and investors.

We are proud to present Team V - the Winners of Smart India Hackathon 2023 held from 19th to 23rd of December under the Student Innovation category. The team has also bagged the consolation prize at Robofest 3.0, the largest robotics competition of India, on the 31st of December. Both these wins within a month reflect over 9 months of dedication and hardwork that went with the Hexapod, and is a proud feat for not only the students, but also the Robotics and Machine Intelligence club and NIT Trichy.

There were great teams, and there were winners. Congratulations to all, and we hope the participants had just as much fun as we had curating this!

We, at RMI, are extremely delighted to have gotten the opportunity to present 4 of our ongoing projects at the EXCON’21 exhibition, held from the 17th to the 21st of May, at the AI and IoT Pavilion in BIEC Bengaluru. Teams ANVI, LEWI, SPS and SSC represented the club, as well as NIT Trichy in the exhibition, where they showcased their respective projects to top industrialists and technicians across the country.
