Chitra Purnima
When the Sun is in Aries, it heralds the beginning of the Vedic New Year. When the first full moon of the Vedic New Year shines in Chitra Nakshatra, it is called Chitra Poornami or Chitra Purnima.

Significance of Chitra Powrnami(FULLMOON)
The Chitra Full Moon in Libra is a “karma balancing” moon. Along with this energy, Chitra Nakshatra adds "abundance" and "regeneration" energies. Therefore, the Moon shining on Earth on this day is overflowing with positive and constructive energies – energies that are useful in removing negative karma that prevents you from enjoying wealth, health and relationships. On this day you can experience spiritual awakening through meditation -- specifically, a mediation practice that involves making a connection between the crown chakra and the heart chakra in your subtle human body.

Rituals of Chitra Powrnami(FULLMOON)
On Chitra Poornima, your prayers to the divine will connect you with the higher divine energy. Participating in meditation and holy rituals on this day will bring you closer to God, seeking blessings and forgiveness. So, if you pray to God to dissolve your past karma, you will be refreshed and get new energies in life. Negative energies will be removed and obstacles in your way that prevent you from fulfilling your desires will be removed.

Worshiping Chitragupta, the divine accountant/book keeper and Lord Shiva with incense, camphor and flowers is considered very auspicious on this day. Feeding the poor and needy may grant you their divine blessings.

Chitra Purnima is considered to be the birthday of Chitragupta, the divine accountant. Brahma created him through the sun god. He is considered to be the younger brother of Yama, the god of death, and his assistant. Chitragupta is believed to be vigilant on earth to record the good and bad deeds of humans.

It is also believed that when a person dies, Chitragupta immediately checks that person's complete list of bad and good karmas. He then sends a message to Yama to make the final decision on the fate of that person's soul.
