Kenya calling!!

When it comes to experiences of the wild kind, Kenya is right up there on the top of any traveller's list. With so much to do and see in Kenya, one needs to plan well.

We curated an itinerary for our guests in such a manner that they got to explore the scintillating plains of Masai Mara, the beautiful Lake Naivasha and being the outdoorsy kinds, hike up Mt.Longonot , cycling, rock climbing and trekking at Hell's Gate National Park and then finally for some Vitamin Sea at Diani Beach.

Over the long weekend (7-9 Apr) we concluded a unique trip to Pench National Park that combined wildlife and local culinary experiences. This trip was curated in partnership with The Nomad Foodie.

The activities included high tea at the beautiful Kohka lake, visiting the Gond tribals at the local village, interacting with the tribals and getting a glimpse into their lives, eating local food cooked at a machaan bordering the core area of the jungle.

There was food cooked on traditional mud chulhas, local ingredients, mahua from the forest and above all, the expertise of Chef Suprio, Chef Sherry, Harsh*ta and her team at Prana SuperFoods. Live music and live cooking made the whole experience even more exhilarating.

Then there were 3 action packed safaris with tigers, deers, wild boars, raptors etc.

Sharing some moments from the trip which would give you a glimpse of all the various experiences during the trip.

The eyes that light up the world!!

Found this beauty on the way out after a very interesting Birding session. Such bright, beautiful and fierce eyes had me spellbound for a few moments and I ended up shooting quite a few pics. More on this series coming up later!! Stay tuned.

T-60 at Ranthambhore

Our April group tour to Ranthambhore and Jhalana was extremely fruitful and full of sightings....not just fleeting glances of the tigers but of tigers sitting in their private pools for hours...and us gleefully shooting them from all possible angles!!

This was one such sighting of T-60. Chilling all by herself in this waterbody till we arrived to give her company.

Oriental Magpie Robin

The Oriental Magpie Robin is a small passerine bird that was formerly classed as a member of the thrush family Turdidae, but now considered an Old World flycatcher. They are distinctive black and white birds with a long tail that is held upright as they forage on the ground or perch conspicuously.

Common Rock Pigeon

They are part of our everyday lives and we don't usually pay much attention to them. Generally light grey in colour, their front part has amazing green and purple colours....had never noticed it earlier.

Did you know?

Tigers can drink upto 20 gallons of water per day!!

In the summer months, when the temperature is upwards of 40°C in Ranthambhore, you often see tigers resting in waterholes. During our April trip to RTR, all our tiger sightings were near water bodies.

This is Noorie who we found resting on the gypsy track. After some time she got up and sauntered to a nearby waterbody. First she drank some water and then just sat in the water and made herself comfortable.

We didn't know at that time that Noorie was pregnant. She has recently been sighted with cubs. Hoping to catch her with her family on our next trip soon!!
