Stop ignoring deer. They're one of the most beautiful species out there!
Try to observe them giving alarm calls out.
Try to observe their mating calls.
Try to observe two stags fighting for a doe.
Try to observe a doe feeding it's fawn.
See and enjoy the galloping and roaming around the grasslands.
Watch them look at you with those beautiful eyes as you pass by them real slow on the smooth jungle soil.
If you think you've seen any animals / birds picture worthy or just want to observe it tell the driver/guide/volunteer that you want to wait and enjoy wildlife to the fullest.
It's always what you want.
And jungles will always make sure that you'll get what you want.
I remember writing about how safaris never go dry. Because safaris really aren't dry if you're seeing a large number of tree species , almost more than 100 species of birds , deer , antelopes, langurs.
You never know when you'll see those beautiful species again.
Don't care about what the tour leader will think or don't fear not seeing big cats. Sab dikhega! That is what safaris are for.

When a Dhole hunts:

Known as the Asiatic wild dog
( Cuon alpinus. p) holding several other names in Marathi like kolsun and raan kutra, the Dhole is the best hunter in the wild along with its comrades. It's from the Canidae family .These asiatic wild dogs have their own squad and they have their own swag.They walk in packs ranging from 5-20 dogs full of lively pups and adults completing a deadly family. The fam will spot a prey and surround it in an instance. Contacting and communicating with each other and exhibiting excellent coordination along with an infrasonic whistle as their contact call, the hunt begins. We humans will think of this only as a whistle. But the prey knows that it is the last sound it's going to hear. It's the sound of the end of its life, and it screams its last screams.
E.g. A spotted deer surrounded by a huge pack of grown Dholes . They come closer to the chital and it has no way to escape. They rip of a spotted deer alive feasting on the inside parts of that prey when it still tries to escape from those strong jaws . As they eat the prey alive the deer’s parts like its intestines etc are prominently seen.The larger prey rarely die from the attack itself, but from blood loss and shock as their intestines, heart, liver, and eyes are feasted upon. For non-wildlifers its a bit disgusting and heartbreaking to see. But wildlifers and wildlife photographers know that there is beauty and reality of life seen over here. The interdependence, the coordination, the intensity seen is far beyond words. These avid hunters even compete with tigers and leopards making them sworn enemies. Of course due to the common habitat and the prey.

It’s sorrowful , the separation which comes along after spending a lot of time together, isn’t it? Are we the only ones who feel so? I don’t think so. Tigers bunt, which is the derivative for scent rubbing, the oldest form of scent communication. In this moment, the tigress rubbed the tiger’s cheek to display courtship which happened for quite a while thereafter. Despite all that, the sadness in her eyes and the future separation that she might’ve anticipated as well as her behaviour during the moment indicated how sorrowful a separation can become, even for a tiger who’s emotions aren’t as developed as humans. This is not something which happens with just a mating pair. It happens between tiger siblings when they start separating from their mother,etc. , as well. Not only tigers but cats in general behave this way.
The tigress left the tiger after a while and returned to her territory.
The bunting, the mating and the separating was a deep series which I got to observe. No matter how sorrowful separation is, every separation has a meaning. A good one at that!

A week ago an article on a Mahout chasing a Tiger in Kanha was published on The Times of India] by .pinjarkar ( twitter - )

We DO NOT support such unnatural ways of getting a tiger sighting. All our sightings, be it big cats, birds, reptiles are carefully taken care of without disturbing the nature around or the being we are supposed to inform you about. For us, jungles are not entertainment. They’re temples and we worship them more than we can worship any Gods. We respect every aspect of nature and we never get involved in such malpractices. Know your tour operator before you find yourself in such situations! Travel right, respect nature and travel guilt-free!!

And this is what has happened with most of us wildlife enthusiasts. Wildlife not only makes sense to us or shows us what life is and what it can be, but it gives us a sense of self and teaches us lessons we would never learn inside those four walls of theories and philosophy created by the most confused minds themselves.

Passion always wins and for our passion it is roaming around jungles.
Passion in the field of wildlife is vast too. It goes right from roaming around in the jungles to photographing the tiniest flora to the most gigantic mammal.
