The smell of pine-wood, the sound of the Jujurana (Himalayan bird), a hint of winter in the air. These are the things one thinks about when stepping into Himachal. But to enjoy all these and the many attractions that Shimla offers, you need the perfect home base; a place to unwind after a long day of exploring, a place to sit back in and look up at the many stars that blaze over the Himalayan mountains, a place that can soothe you to sleep with the quiet rustling of wind-blown trees. We have just the place for you.
Our house, The Jujurana, is a five-bedroom, pent-house with ultra-modern décor and Avante grade comforts. Located at the top of the village called Bharari, it is a comfortable 30 mins walk (or a 10 min cab ride) to Mall Road across beautifully winding mountain lanes surrounded by pine trees.
The house offers a cozy dining room, comfy living room with music system (on demand), a small library cm lounge, and a well-equipped kitchen you can cut, chop and cook as you listen to the sounds of chirping birds, whistling trees and chattering monkeys outside of the windows. and to top it all off, you can end your day by relaxing with your family or knocking back a few drinks with your friends on the terrace and balcony, giving you a commanding of the sunset over the mountains, rolling away into the distance.
For those who wish to wander off into the hills, the Jujurana is surrounded by excellent mountain trails, letting you climb up and down the valley, as you please. The village of Bharari is in itself, a place worth visiting. It is characterised by narrow mountain lanes, overhung with trees and is the home of the many well-respected Himachali's who have decided to retire for some tranquillity. in addition, for those interested in history and the unusual, an old burnt-out colonial house on top of the hill behind the house. jujuranahouse.com
