, we officially launched Youth Sports Academy - YPJK today at Pampore - Saffron Town, I am grateful to Dr. Basharat Qayoom, District Magistrate, Pulwama for his support and endorsement.

In Sha Allah, with the support of District Administration and Department of Youth Services and Sports, we will train 5000 Students from Block Pampore in various Sports Verticals, under our theme [ ] supported by Earth Day Network-India [EarthDay.org].

I am grateful to our young and dynamic Sports Team and Directors of Youth Sports Academy - Pampore for their unconditional support and cooperation to develop Town as .

Special thanks to Mr. Sarmad Hafeez, Secretary, Department of Youth Services and Sports for his support for our Green Vision and Mission for Sports Development in .

The bird walk cm birdwatching event was conducted by Wildlife Conservation Fund, YPJK, at the Wetlands of Pampore - Saffron Town, in which the members of " - Pampore" took a lead with the active participation of students from Satisar Educational Institute, Tulbagh Pampore and Govt Upper Primary School, Lalpora Pampore.

It was beautiful to see various bird species in the WR and WR. Students found it extremely rare and peculiar to get a look at the wonderful glimpse of Mallards, Gadwalls, Northern Shovelers, Common Pochard, Pintails, and many other avian bird species at the Chatlam and Fashkoori Wetland Reserve.

It was so captivating experience to see various species of birds closely and was a wonderful moment to experience the natural beauty.

we are back with our new idea of at Chandhara, Pampore under Go Green Chandhara - JKEW part of VIHI District Eco-Restoration Project endorsed by UN - Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, 2021-2030.

We at Jammu & Kashmir Eco-Watch believe in and are happy to share that, we are launching .

has been identified for Eco-Restoration in the next couple of months under Phase-I, followed by other environmental related works.

In Sha Allah, we will develop new protocols for the involvement of local youth and members of civil society.

I also appeal to locals of Chandhara to join hands with our for making Chandhara a better place to live in and support us for working towards and Chandhara under the name and title of Go Green Chandhara.

It was great to see the Youth of Chandhara village joining hands for such a noble cause and pledging their support for developing their village as part of .

WE 💚 PAMPORE

Members of the Wildlife Conservation Fund, YPJK along with the team of The Nature Office supported by Sanctuary Nature Foundation (SNF) conducted a cleanliness drive around the Chatlam Wetland Reserve - Pampore on Saturday, June 17th, despite bad weather, rain showers and strong winds.

This cleanliness drive was purposely carried out in the evening to attract the attention of visitors who frequently visit the wetland in the late hours to enjoy the sunsets here. The objective was to send the message to as many people as possible.

Approximately 80 KGs of garbage was collected around the Chatlam Wetland Reserve viz Tulbagh Avenue, Saffron Avenue and Saffron Karewas.

The team has been making similar efforts everywhere for years and is committed to doing so in future as well, just to make sure that we protect, conserve and preserve the gifts of nature.

The message WCF wants to convey to everyone is that keep the environment neat and clean so that the next generation will also grow up in such a beautiful and healthy environment.

On Monday, June 13, a team of Wetland Conservation Project - WCF along with members of The Nature Office visited and inspected Chatlam Wetland Reserve - Pampore and . During this visit a number of issues were highlighted for immediate redressal.

It was observed that the surface water level has decreased as compared to a few months back. As such, attention needs to be diverted to the source of water and desilting process conducted on priority basis.

A lot of solid waste matter has accumulated on the banks of the wetland, so a macro-level cleanliness drive is the need of the hour.
However, the team performed a micro-level cleanliness drive around the wetland and cleared a lot of waste polluting the water body.

FLASHBACK: 3 YEARS AGO.

My Love, My Wetlands of Pampore.

From last 15 Years, I have been monitoring Four Wetlands of Pampore as my hobby, Today while on field visit, I can tell you with authority that they are one of the best managed wetlands in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.

I am thankful to Mr. Rashid Naqash, Regional Wildlife Warden (Kashmir Divsion) for his support and mentorship, I also would like to acknowledge the endorsement of Mr. Rouf Zargar, Wildlife Warden (Wetland Division), Department of Wildlife Protection for taking necessary steps for Conservation and Protection of Wetlands of Pampore.

I am happy to share that, J&K Forest Department under the able leadership of Dr. Mohit Gera, PCCF & HoFF announced the setting up of from Gosain Nar to Wasturwan, Pampore.

The Trekking Route will offer great experience to all those professional trekkers, who are waiting to scale mount [3000 Meters ASL] in Landscape.

I am extremely thankful to Dr. Sheikh Mehraj, DFO, J&K Forest Department (Awantipora Forest Division) for approving the Trekking Route to Wasturwan Top and compliment his tireless efforts for giving special attention Forest Range Pampore and developing at , Pampore - Saffron Town.

Today as on 04.01.2022, the Team of Wildlife Conservation Fund, YPJK and Joint Control Room [JCR] (Forest Range Pampore) visited Chatlam Wetland Reserve - Pampore and developed the future strategy to curb the illegal practices around the Wetlands of Pampore - Saffron Town.

The Anti-Poaching Unit, WCF briefed the Team of Forest Officers and Forest Protection Force [FPF] about the immediate steps to be taken for Conservation of Wetlands of Pampore which hosts thousands of Migratory Birds.

We are happy to share that, 25 Special Squad under has been established at to aid and assit the Inter-Departmental collaboration between Territorial Forest Department, Forest Protection Force & Department of Wildlife Protection in .

We assured all possible support and guidance to the Team for Conservation of , and in VIHI DISTRICT.
