Diwali is a popular Hindu festival celebrated across the country. It is a five-day festival that people in India celebrate to mark the victory of good over evil. Diwali is also known as Deepawali, and it is one of the most auspicious festivals in India.
On the occasion of Diwali, people light diyas, and candles, and decorate their houses with colourful lights, flowers and rangolis (which are made from sand or colourful powders). This is a time for families and friends to meet and celebrate the festival together. People exchange sweets, and gifts, and enjoy each other's company.

As the celestial dance of Navratri unfolds, on the eighth day, the seekers of light bow their heads in reverence to the sublime embodiment of purity and grace - the illustrious Goddess Mahagauri. Her radiance, a beacon of hope, illuminates the path towards enlightenment.

In the resplendent tapestry of the Hindu deities, the goddess Shailputri stands as a shimmering embodiment of purity, serenity, and tranquility. Her effulgence outshines even the moon's, earning her the title of Mahagauri, a being of luminosity and grace with skin as pure as freshly fallen snow. In her divine essence, she holds the power to soothe and calm the souls of those who seek refuge under her benevolent gaze.

Behold the mystical visions of the divine. The goddesses Mahagauri and Shailputri, both astride magnificent bulls, inspire awe in the hearts of seekers. Mahagauri's enchanted form often bears four hands, wielding the Trishul and Damaru, while her other hands rest in Abhaya and Varada Mudra, symbols of protection and benediction.

The divine Goddess Mahagauri, with her radiant skin, is akin to the luminous moon, the pure conch, and the white K***a flower. She adorns herself in garments of white, for which she is revered as Shwetambardhara. In her enchanting aura, the night-blooming jasmine holds a special place, its fragrant blooms weaving a tapestry of wonder.

On the sixth day of Navratri, we honor the divine presence of the radiant Goddess Katyayani.
Parvati transformed into the fierce warrior goddess, Katyayani, during her battle against the malevolent Mahishasura, embodying the spirit of a courageous fighter determined to protect the realms of light.
Behold the divine form of the goddess Katyayani - four hands adorned with ethereal grace, astride a majestic lion, a lotus flower and sword held aloft in her left hands. Her right hands, adorned with the Abhaya and Varada Mudras, beckon forth all seekers of her blessings.
Goddess Parvati's Katyayani form originates from her birth at the home of sage Katya, as described in religious texts.
Symbolism of the Color Maroon and the Rose in Relation to Goddess Katyayani
Maroon, being the sixth color representing Katyayani Mata, is a symbol of courage, perseverance, and fearlessness. It bestows strength and protection to those who seek the support of goddess Durga. Additionally, the rose is a cherished flower of Goddess Katyayani, adding to the significance of this powerful deity.

As the fifth day of Navratri dawns, we pay homage to the divine Goddess Skandamata.
When the mystical Parvati became the mother of the esteemed Lord Skanda (also known as Lord Kartikeya or Lord Murgan), she took on the form of the revered Goddess Skandamata and becoming the shining beacon of maternal love.
Adorned in the golden hues of the morning sun, her radiance illuminates the heavens, and her followers offer her fragrant petals and yellow garbs in homage to her grace. In her divine presence, let us bow with reverence and seek her benediction upon our souls.
Goddess Skandamata, who rides a lion, is depictedwith four hands and carries lotus flowers in her upper hands. She holds baby Murugan in right hands and keeps the other hand in Abhaya Mudra. She is seated on a lotus flower, earning her the name Goddess Padmasana.
Skandamata, the Hindu goddess, bestows double blessings upon her worshippers. By worshipping her, Lord Skanda, her son, is also automatically revered. Consequently, the devotee receives the grace of both Skandamata and Lord Skanda. If the worshipper approaches her with selflessness, the Mother blesses them with power and prosperity. Devotees who worship her radiate with divine splendor, and her devotion ultimately leads to salvation. She is also commonly referred to as "The Goddess of Fire."

On the third day of our mystical journey, we bask in the divine radiance of Chandraghanta.

This form of Goddess Parvati is peaceful and for welfare of her devotees. In this form Goddess Chandraghanta is ready for the war with all her weapons. It is believed that the sound of the moon-bell on her forehead expel all type of spirits away from her devotees. Goddess Chandraghanta mounts on the tigress. She wears the semi-circular moon (Chandra) on her forehead. The half-moon on her forehead looks like the bell (Ghanta) and because of that she is known as Chandra-Ghanta. She is depicted with ten hands. Goddess Chandraghanta carries Trishul, Gada, Sword and Kamandal in her four left hands and keeps the fifth left hand in Varada Mudra. She carries lotus flower, Arrow, Dhanush and Japa Mala in her four right hands and keeps the fifth right hand in Abhaya Mudra.

Red, the third colour, stands for Mata Chandraghanta. This color represents vitality, fervor, and enthusiasm. Additionally, it stands for health and fertility. Blood is frequently associated with the color red, which is a representation of the goddess Durga’s courage and strength.

Day 2: Brahmacharini
Brahmacharini (Sanskrit: ब्रह्मचारिणी) means a devoted female student who lives in an Ashrama with her Guru along with other students. She is the second aspect of the Navadurga forms of Mahadevi and is worshipped on the second day of Navaratri. The goddess Brahmacharini is an aspect of Parvati and wears white clothes, holding a japamala in her right hand and a kamandalu in her left.

White, the second colour, represents Goddess Brahmacharini. White symbolizes righteousness and justice as well as purity and innocence. When her followers seek her assistance, Goddess Durga annihilates all evil and makes sure that justice is served.
