You need a brain and hard work to create your own opportunity and not depend on others for your living, you should understand the importance of your own land. You may not live in the corners of Dzongu, but your one decision is going to destroy and hamper not just, the northerners and people of Dzongu but Sikkim at large. Let us learn from the lesson of others, we have enough examples in Sikkim itself. Am sure, you will not live to see the misery your future generation will follow because you chose to fill your own pocket for your selfish desire.

The Inspector General of Police issued a warning to police personnel over Nathula ‘racket’ in a office order released dated 13th May.

In the order, the IGP stated, “A lot of unfortunate reports against the Police personnel involving officers down to constable is coming through unofficial channel that vehicles are being allowed to visit Nathula without the paid requisite permit issued by Tourism Department and the Army.”

“Further, it is also reported that some officers are involved in running such racket wherein a large fleet of vehicles are being sent to Nathula under their patronage and the money collected in cash from the taxi drivers.”

“This act amounts to corruption and is liable for departmental action and prosecution under PCA act. That apart the Government is losing out on the revenue which otherwise would have accrued in the Government exchequer.”

“Check Posts Police personnel are warned to rectify their behavior and keep in mind that they are already drawing 50% more salary then their counterpart and it would be advisable to keep their avarice under check.”

“This is disgracing the image of Sikkim Police. Henceforth SP & ASP/Check Posts shall visit Nathula twice a week on rotation to supervise the functioning of the Police on duty at Nathula.”

“The Officers shall interact with tourists and Taxi Drivers and get their feedback on the Police checking. A report shall be submitted on such checking,” he added.
