The massive Gangotri Glacier (below) which is over 30 Km long is the 2nd largest glacier of India. Mt. Bhaghirathi (6512m) covered with clouds giving us a little glance of its peak.

The origin of the holy River Ganga.
Gangotri Glacier is also the second largest glacier of India.

The sight was amazing yet it was dangerous to be so close to the melting glacier.

This glacier is receding at the speed of 10 meters per year due to global warming.
