5 iconic places to visit during the festival of colours this year, where culture & tradition meet enjoyment! 🤩🎨

1. Similar to Dahi Handi, Mathura celebrates the festival of colours in the memory of Bal Krishna, affectionately known as “Makhan chor”.

2. Holi is celebrated in a cultural way at Shantiniketan, West Bengal. Students of the university and youths dress up in bright yellow colorful dresses symbolising the color of Vasanta (spring season).

3. Lath-mar (beat up) Holi celebrations in Barsana Village being a week before the main day of Holi where ladies of the village beat up men with sticks, indicating their revenge against oppression.

4. The Holika Dahan Ceremony held at The City Palace, Udaipur, witnesses a magnificent palace procession that leads through the Palace from the Royal residence to Manek Chowk. After the religious ceremonies, you can look forward to the lighting of a traditional sacred fire where an effigy of the fraudulent Holika is burnt.

5. Holi in Pushkar is celebrated at the famous chowk, Varah Ghat, where thousands of people gather together throwing gulaal in the air, some high on bhaang, and others on the celebration. The speakers blare psychedelic trance music, which only adds to the ambiance & there's no Balam Pichkari or Rang Barse, for the good.
