What do you enjoy the most when you are exploring a new place?
is it an attraction? a theme park? a famous restaurant? or local food?
We love to #travelforfood!
We travelled to #molvom village in Medziphema, #Nagaland to find these golden juicy beauties! The village produces the world's juiciest golden pineapples. Molvom is a short detour on your way to Dimapur and is worth taking a stop to try them out
Did you ever travel for food?

What a trek to see this natural beauty. The rainbow 🌈 falls is another 60 to 90 minutes trek after you reach the #doubledeckerlivingrootbridge.
When the sun rays fall through the water you will see the rainbow as in the video
You will have some ascends and descends and a lot of butterflies.
It's a powerful waterfall.
There is a tea vendor for your break when you awe over the falls.
On your way back don't forget the blue lagoon. (More bout ît in the next post
Some places never get old

🏞The natural manmade wonder- the bridges of Meghalaya are made by intertwining the roots of the rubber tree that grow into strong sturdy bridges which takes about 15 years to start growing!
The most famous one is the double-decker bridge in Nongriat which is more than 100 yrs old!
👀Watch the video to see the details of how the roots are intertwined and start from the tree to form a bridge
The trek to this double-decker bridge isn't the easiest but the man-made natural is an out of the world experience. The path is about 3km long with ~3500 steps and goes down to about 2400 ft
🏆But once you reach this majestic view, watch in wonder and all the tiredness is gone. The waterfall next to it will give you respite and the little chai and Maggi shop near the bridge will satiate your hunger from the climb down.

A trip to #amritsar must, must, and I again say must include #wagahborder especially if you go with kids!
The fervour and the energy is so high, that it catches on to every young & old.
you will break into an impromptu dance, like in the video here!
An experience to be seen, the 30-minute drill is a flag-lowering ceremony two hours before sunset for the bordering nations-
the Goose March - a sight to see, where both the sides march raising their legs as high as they can bring out the competitive fun in you.
Did you know: Soldiers who take part in the ceremony are required to maintain a moustache and beard mandatorily and get remunerated for it.

We did a survey yesterday to help make travel planning during period simpler for us women
Most of us don't cringe on vacations plans if aunt Flo is visiting! 😄
Interestingly, the common activity that is cancelled is water activities or treks and the biggest concern was public places for hygiene care.
I have populated a list of intimate hygiene care products that I pack for a trip syncing with my period, and I always have a set packed and ready to go!
Here it goes for a less anxious, more relaxing period vacation!
🩲Period underwear- have you tried disposables?
🧽Maxi pads- I recommend carrying additional maxi pads for those nights
🍸Cups- once you get the hang of it- you only go to pads as additional safety and it saves you a ton of monies! ( muster up that courage, you know who 😉)
🤽♀️Tampons- tampons make it less awkward to get into the sea or pool
🩲Panty Liners- always carry 2 in your travel kit
💌 Discrete disposable bags - Carry disposable bags
💊a whopping 63% still have painful periods - have you tried a pain relief patch? you stick it on your lower tummy while you're travelling and the heat relieves the spasms. Pain care meds - pack your painkiller, an antispasmodic, a mini heating pad or hot water bag
🚽a big factor in hygiene in public toilets- a disposable pee funnel for the road and a reusable pee funnel if you are sharing rooms plus your own roll of tissue roll!
Save this packing list post for your next trip!
Add to your comments if you have any more on your list!
I have been traveling with my older son since he was 6 months old and now it's the shy tweenager and a racious 4 yr old boy!
my travels with my boys have shaped my boys and have made me in a evolved mama. Aayan found his enthusiasm to click pictures, never say no to new adventures.
Travelling to other countries, and within our country with my boys have been lessons learnt for all of us. Something that a school may not teach.
And experiences that have built everlasting memories for my boys and me

The log drums, a souvenir of the past; a symbolic retention of the traditional tribal practice of the Nagas is a cultural emblem.
You will find a log drum in every village, which was traditionally kept in a #morung (more about them in a different post). Carved out of a single trunk of wood, traditionally the call of the log drums were used to signal emergencies, fires, invaders and
now used to signal village meetings and celebrations. It has a distinct rhythm for each event. The massive drums is a significant part of keeping the #nagaculture alive and if you are lucky you will be able to hear and see the logdrum being played during the tribes festival or at Hornbill festival

Pondicherry excited us most because we could go on a food journey to taste French, Tamil and Creole fares.
Pondicherry, the erstwhile french town has its cuisne adapted from the Tamil cuisne refined by the French influence.
Here I was awed by the finesse and modernity of the French onion soup at #villashantipondicherry
But there are now only a handful restaurants where you will get a full fare of French cuisine or Creole cusines.
Our next trip will have you tasting traditional Franco-Tamil meal made lovingly by local host at her home.
Hosting our Pondy trip soon, stay tuned for the announcement

After a 20m to 30m walk on the dirt road to a lagoon to soak in watching the sunset.swipe left<<
A shallow, freshwater lagoon, you can swim in there and also spend some time kayaking in the canals
The Cola beach lagoon when I went in 2015 was still unknown and quiet to most of the visitors. But with its popularity and the easy access with the gram, now it's a hoard of peeps riding the dirt path with easy parking to reach the lagoon.
But I would still still recommend to visit the place for a sundowner with a couple of beers...
P.S. do not venture the sea, it is choppy and the lifeguards certainly don't recommend it
