In the Indian state of Rajasthan, the city of Udaipur contains the royal complex known as City royal. A number of Mewar dynasty kings made contributions during the course of its almost 400-year construction. Maharana Udai Singh II of the Sisodia Rajput family began building it in 1553 as he moved his capital from the former city of Chittor to the newly discovered city of Udaipur. The palace is a cluster of palaces that is situated on the east shore of Lake Pichola.
The City Palace in Udaipur, which is thought to be the largest of its kind in the state of Rajasthan, was constructed in a spectacular manner. It was constructed on a hill using a combination of Rajasthani Rajput architecture, offering a sweeping vista of the city and its surrounds. Several historic sites, including the Lake Palace, Jag Mandir, Jagdish Temple, Monsoon Palace, and Neemach Mata temple, are close to the palace complex and overlook Lake Pichola. These locations, which are part of the Aravali mountain range, are famous for having been used in the 1983 James Bond film Octopussy.
