Someone rightly said, Music is much beyond the barriers created by humans. The barriers of religion, borders, caste, creed...
Had the opportunity to listen to mesmerizing and soul-stirring music by Shruthi Veena Vishvanath and Shalinisekhar.
The songs were from #Syria, #Turkey, #Afganistan, #Greece, #India
Honestly, did not understand a word of any of these songs but the music was so soulful that it touched the heart.
@musicallyshruthi
@shalinisekhar
Thank you so much for the great evening 🙏

Nanak Naam Chardikala, teraa bhanaa Sarbaht dah Phahla is the final term in the Sikh prayer called the Ardas. The term outlines one of the most important of Sikh principles.
To put this in concise and clear language, it means that the Sikh desires, prays and asks God for the:
Well being of all of humanity
Prosperity for everyone in the worldwide community
and
Global Peace for the entire planet

Journeys Through Delhi :
The Hauz Khas lake and Beatboxing
I go for my morning/evening walks around the beautiful Hauz Khas lake in South Delhi. This _Hauz_ or Water tank was an important tank to supply water to the city of Sri, built by Allahudin Khilji in the 13th century. Hence called _Hauz Khas_ or important water Tank. Around the lake are the monuments of that time which include a madrasa and the tomb of Firoz Shah Tughlaq.
I am always fascinated by these old monuments and the stories related to them. One day while walking around this lake, I saw this group of young boys making 'Beatboxing'.
..............
Beatboxing is a form of vocal percussion primarily involving the art of mimicking drum machines, using one's mouth, lips, tongue, and voice. It may also involve vocal imitation of turntablism, and other musical instruments. #journeys #indiatourism #tours #travel

Dhunachi Dancers performing on Durga Puja
The festival of Durga Puja is traditionally held for 10 days in the month of Ashvina (September–October). Durga Puja celebrates the victory of the goddess Durga over the demon king Mahishasura. The main celebrations are held for last four days, where decorated idols of the goddess—astride a lion, attacking the demon king Mahishasura are placed at various pandals and lots of cultural activities are held during these days.
One such ceremony is the Traditional Dhunuchi Dance. It is ritualized dance worship where the dancers hold the Dhunuchi or the lamp and dance in front of the Durga Maa s idol with the drum beats.
On the tenth day, the idols of Maa Durga are taken for immersion. It is symbolic of the departure of the deity to her home and to her husband, Shiva, in the Himalayas.
