Isn't it unfair that we only see those jaw-dropping landscape pictures on our tiny phone screens? 😔 It's like watching a majestic eagle soar on a postage stamp. 📱 We should totally be experiencing the grandeur of those shots on BIGGER screens, like a massive TV! 📺 Or at least a snazzy tablet! 🖥️ Just imagine the sheer beauty and detail we'd witness! 😍✨

I was actually discussing this very topic during one of our Tawang trips, and guess what? 🗣️🏞️ A bunch of folks totally agreed with me! 🙌✨ In fact, our buddy Girish bhai went straight to the point and must have already set up in his home.

You too can make it happen with the help of the Fire Stick or the Chromecast! 🙌

Just picture it—gathering around a massive TV with your important ones and sharing the awe-inspiring beauty captured in those breathtaking landscapes! 😱🌄✨ It'll be like stepping right into those pictures.

If this was an ideas worth spreading, Tag your loved ones and invite them to sort their best memories and stream it. I can't wait to convince enough people to do this more often.

We are going to sort and reshare all our best landscapes to our trippers because this beauty deserves to be shared. Say "Yes" in the comments, and you will get the link personally in DM.

🛕Among the more intrepid moments, there will be moments of pure calm and serenity. Partake in authentic bhutanese traditions at the Golden Buddha Point and send a postcard to your loved ones with your face as a stamp on it.
🛕Bask in the glory of Bhutan’s tallest peak Mt Massanggang-7158 meters from Dochula Pass. Even if we are not climbing it, we ensure we set sights on the grand specimen.
🛕Ever been to a temple where the tradition is to strike a pilgrim on the head with a 10 inch Phallus? Introducing Chimi Lhakhang is the fertility temple in Bhutan blessed by the divine Madman saint Drukpa Kunley.
🛕Trek up to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery , feel the heritage and healing power of this medieval temple. No trip to Bhutan is complete without hiking this trail festooned with moss and prayer flags.
🛕27.36971°N 89.34731°E These are the coordinates of the highest motorable point in Bhutan called the Chelela Pass. Prayer flags, breathtaking views and a scent of freedom and happiness awaits you here.
🛕How often can you cross a cantilever bridge and reach a 15th century Dzong which holds home to 14 shrines and chapels? On the last day, we go to Paro Dzong, we sit by the river, meditate and reminisce about the past week with new friends, like minded people.
🛕The National sport of Bhutan is archery and just like the arrow slinging heroine in hunger games, hawkeye in avengers and tv’s latest superhero Green arrow, what is a better time to suss out the ancient tool, and examine how it evolved into the weapon du jour ?

Trip leader Alka turns an year wiser today

She is clearly the sweetest trip leader we have. If you were on the other end on the phonecall with Alka as she is leading trip, you might hear how concerned she is about a tripper's surprise birthday cake. Its an obvious thing to many, but to see her all cheer up and getting excited about planning the perfect birthday night for a person she just met a few hours before, We think it adorable.

Lots of love

Day 1: Our flight was delayed for almost 12 hours at the Katmandu airport. It was not boring, it was amazing actually to be stuck there with at-least 40 people from all over the world flying out to Lukla on a singular mission. To reach the base of the tallest mountain on planet Earth.

Day 2: We eat porridge at 6:00 in the morning.
Team OJ to base camp : “we have begun our ascent”

Day 3: Focussing on making up for the lost day. Bodies are just warming up to the altitudes and the cold conditions.

Day 4: The majestic mountains reveal themselves. Time to laugh at the face of adversity.

Day 5: Legs are dying. Life is good. Constantly.

Day 6: Acclimated at 4800 metres. Base camp of Amadabalam.

Day 7: The helicopters are flying really close. Seeing mountain goats in their natural habitat.

Day 8: Prayer in the morning becomes more serious. Hoping for good weather and good health.

Day 9: Mission accomplished. 5345 metres. Team OJ arrives at base camp. Cracked open local Nepalese beer - Everest beer at Everest base camp.

This is a tale (trail) of helicopters , high altitudes and a lot of horse s**t.

Hiking to the base of the tallest mountain in the world in adverse conditions makes you realise how frail we are but also shows us the extent of our capabilities. It all begins with an idea, a spark of creativity, a dream, to conquer your inner demons while you encounter the great outdoors in an immersive and somewhat dangerous manner.
What begins in your mind materialises into a beautiful interaction with nature and give you an opportunity to get outside your comfort zone for an adventure into the unknown.

In the land of towering peaks , where the wind speaks- a land where all our superficiality fades and a more playful, thoughtful version of ourselves emerge, where we focus on only one thing, being present, to accept the gifts of the natural world.

Everyone should be here once in their life and they could proudly say they have dipped their faces in a glacier river.

We had nicknames for each other.
We were making fun of each other. We had running jokes and a secret serial killer in the group. We called him zodiac.

We roasted each other as if we were childhood friends. There was a lot of laughing. There was a lot of wine too.

The best part was the fact some of us were on their first solo trip. They hadn’t travelled with a group before and after this all of them can’t wait to travel again. If a trip can inspire to you travel more, then there is nothing more as a trip leader you can do.

We had introverts , extroverts, ambiverts and two adrenaline junkies. We were stacked.

We played volleyball on the banks of Dawki, sat around the campfire drinking wine and swam across to river to climb the jagged cliffs. Life was good.

Apart from the adventure, some of us overcame inherent fears like claustrophobia,
realised the power of mind over the body in cases of adversity, helped each other out in times of need and ate food of the same plate and shared stories about our culture to each other and our guest from South Africa.

We went off-roading to one of the most unexplored places in Meghalaya - Wari Chora and smeared orange mud on each other on Holi. We jumped off of cliffs and went swimming in pristine waters.

So when you’re outside on a group adventure, immersing yourself in vast, dramatic landscapes, the chances are that there is cognitive shift happening to you. And guess what? It’s happening to the people around you too. These bond made outdoors last forever.

Getting out in nature is what Meghalaya is all about. This place is magic and you will feel it when you are here.

Join us on our next trip on May 6th. Bookings open.

Our small world of dreams

For the people who have discovered our group tours & the brand recently, here is a recap of last 5 years.

2017 April : It started with only high altitude treks: I lead treks with the past experience from Indiahikes. Chandrashila, Gaumukh tapovan , kashmir Great Lakes , Sandhakphu were the first ones . Later Hampta pass , kedarkantha , Valley of flowers were also added but it was too crowded for our trekkers seeking a solace in the mountains & those treks were discontinued by us.

Gradually, few of our trekkers started asking us : Why don’t you lead trips also ? That’s how Spiti , Meghalaya, Tawang & Kashmir grouptrips started.

All this while , there was only one plan : Build an adventure travel company ( as written behind a small note book 6 years before ) , that takes people out of the boxes of limitations that the world around them has created for them. People loved coming back with a whole new lookout of the world.

I love it when we gets a message from an old tripper that they remember us for something Novel they did . How amazing is that . Forget group travel & adventure, we get reminded for Novelty.

By 2019 , It moved from just vyshakh leading trips to more trip leaders , Tasneem joined first , Judson joined the back-end , Laxman joined last year July & Alka joined few months back. We started taking in more private trips than we ever thought of.

Today we lead treks from beginner level to even challenging level of Everest base camp & proudly lead by Qualified Trek leads.
We function in : India , Nepal , Russia , Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam , Cambodia, Indonesia , Bhutan & within 2 months , you will have Egypt-Jordan & Morocco too soon . That’s 14 countries of solid operations, not just resurfacing package deals because we create our own itinerary bottom- up.

Back in the days , I would have such small wishes that I want to expand treks from Himachal & Uttarakhand to Kashmir & even trips to north east.

Functioning in North east was such a pure wish I had only because it would haven been such a novel thing to do back then. Today we are proud to say that 2 of our itineraries: Meghalaya & Nagaland Hornbill are easily the best out there. Of course so many brands out there are trying to copy. Rather than feeling bitter, I feel proud about it now.

There were several evenings of self doubt whether to continue leading trips to only famous locations or to take a leap of faith & create new itineraries that might , just might entice trippers.

Well, it just might , right !

This is written keeping in mind all those people who have travelled with us, trusting us with new destinations , in new seasons & new itineraries.

We love you 🤗

Annapurna base camp ( Nov 19-30 ) , You beauty .

Drop your email ID or ping us for the itinerary.

Here we come again . It’s been 4 years since we are functioning in the Annapurna region and still can’t get enough of this one .

In the North-central part of Nepal lies a uniquely shaped group of tall mountains popularly known as the Annapurna massif.

This moderately easy trek is an absolute deal because

1. We begin the trek in Pokhara the lake city in Nepal.

2.As we move further in , you will feel the temperature dropping and air getting crisp.

3.The subtropical vegetation while having an incredible view of the other mammoths in the mountain family.

4.At the end of the trek we can relax our muscles in a hot water spring.

5.Throughout the trek we will also be exposed to authentic settlement and hospitality of the thakali people.

6. We will be staying at Mt.Machapuchare base camp too.

This ,my fellow mountain lovers , is the trek of the year.
Dates : ( Nov 19-30 )

See you soon in the mountains

New Year’s in Bhutan🇧🇹🧡 (Dec24-Jan1)

Drop email Address in the comments for Detailed itinerary & tag the ones you will send pics but won’t take along 😅

So Why join this one !

👉🏻 Bhutan was closed for 2 years & 7 months and we just can’t wait to head back to this beautiful country.

👉🏻 It is only a border apart from india but it hits different when you see what a small border can do when rules are strict . It’s super clean on the other end . You won’t see 100 posters / name board saying the same thing / promoting the same company.

👉🏻 We will hike to a monastery Perched high in the hills . It’s an easy 4 hour hike and a beautiful day at it .

👉🏻 We will hit some nearby pubs for New Years and invite the next year with a Bang 💥

👉🏻 The landscape of Bhutan in December would be amazing. Whenever it snows in Bhutan, people become really happy and celebrates it.

👉🏻 Imagine what it is traveling in a country where the natives live by their traditions and values, the environment, legacy, and future are of utmost importance to the government and everyone looks forward to development-the cultural way? That’s Bhutan!

Big news 🚨: Kazakhstan is VISAFREE FOR INDIANS

Trip dates : Sep 1-8

This is huge for us as a brand. We personally have been aiming to become specialised in Central Asian group tours ( Kazakshtan and kyrgyzstan ) since 2019 December and then Covid happened. All our efforts of learning Russian , making local contacts went in vain . We lost lakhs because the trips got canceled. But somewhere in back of my mind , I knew Central Asia is going to be my forte along with High altitude treks .

I felt home when I am in this region. This year , I am super duper grateful that everything we aim for is falling in place one after the other.

I am otherworldly excited to head to Kazakshtan but this time with a passport that lets me walk out without any letter of invitation, without a visa . I think I might just cry with that freedom , as cross passport control😁.

7 reasons to join this 8 day trip

⛳ We will be flying into & departing from Leh. Now ain’t that an amazing idea , you get to see 2 different cultures & landscapes in 1 trip. In hindsight, we don’t know why we didn’t do it earlier itself .

⛳ We will be having an authentic food tour on Day 1. I am super excited about this one . We will have 3 stops to taste the best of local evening dishes.

⛳ We will be spending 2 days in ( Instead ). Ohh, this one is killer . Just sitting in our Aru hotel with a hot beverage itself deserves a praise . You will definitely know why Kashmir is called Jannat , right here

⛳ We are replacing 2 night halts in & instead head to . Nothing against Sonamarg. We compared both the ideas & even Sonamarg locals agreed , the new one would be a better plan . You know what they said exactly? They said : Thagda plan bhai jaan !!

⛳ We will still stop at Sonamarg beside the river, to soak in the beauty of the place one evening. Let’s try to get a few thermos filled with tea & have a 30 mins break beside the river here . I remember staying near Sonamarg long back & we used to head to this beautiful riverside for a evening Chai . Let me take you to my once up on a time Adda 😬.

⛳ We will be staying in & . It would be such a contrast to move from one landscape to next within a span of few hours . In the morning, you will be in a Kashmir hotel amongst green valleys and in the evening you will be served by Ladhaki staffs amidst the barren lands of Dras ( world’s 2nd coldest place , not so cold during our trip )

⛳ We will spend our last day in Leh, where if you feel like , can extend the trip & continue a solo trip.

Dates : Aug 20-27

5 reasons you should visit this amazing country

Stunning landscape… And also highly accessible!
We will be doing a full round trip of one of the world’s largest lake: Issyk-Kul and en route, we will head into the mountains for a day . From high altitude alpine lakes to velvet, green hills; 7,000-meter high snow-covered peaks and huge, wide valleys with plenty of wildflowers, Kyrgyzstan has some of the most striking landscapes.

Bishkek: We will get to know close about Ussr history & of course head to some amazing cafes and clubs while we are here. Make no assumption, they have some great clubs now and Liquor is super cheap :D

The land of horses!
Horses are as much part of the nomadic culture as their yurts, to the extent that Kyrgyz learn to ride a horse as soon as they start walking. If you like horses, you are going to love Kyrgyzstan.

First-class hikes
Around 90% of the country is above 1,500 meters. From the Tien Shan mountains to the Pamirs in the southern part of the country, the Alay Valley. We have an option to hike, but you can also take a vehicle this day.

The remotest Silk Road Heritage sites
It’s truly unbelievable to think that, for centuries, hundreds of traders journeyed along those trails and mountains, with their camels and horses. These are always located in the most epic places, in the middle of nowhere.

🏖️Baliiiiiii🇮🇩🏖️ it is ( July 8-17 )

Drop your email 📧 address to get the detailed itinerary 🙂

🏖️I’m packing everything that I can in these 10 days..fields, beach, mountains, oceans, volcanoes… et all!! And since you all are doing this trip with me there has to be a hike toooooo right??? Aaffcaazz there has to be one!!! Duuuh😅🧡
(Read on read on!!!)

🏖️Firstly, we aren't just going to visit Bali, we are also heading to Gilli T & Nusa Penida. Each of them has a different vibe and killer views. you will simply fall in love!!
Bali is great with so many activities packed into one area.

🏖️Nusa Penida has the most beautiful beaches and breathtaking cliff views, blue aqua marine waters, a scintillating walk down😍

🏖️The island of Gilli Trawangan is one of the best spots in the world to do scuba, and did you know there are no motor vehicles allowed here.

🏖️One of the highlights of this trips is that we will be hiking the Mt. Batur, an active volcano, to see one of the most gorgeous sunrises you would have even seen. The sky turns from orange to yellow with a backdrop of blue water under you and other volcanoes justr above the clouds. Its just too pretty to comprehend. The climb up starts at 3am but let me tell you, it's so soooo worth it.

🏖️Since you are joining a trip with an outdoor leader, (ahem ahem…!!) expect a lot of untouched locations, outdoor activities, and nature walks. We will be hiking down the kelingking beach ( the dinosaur shaped beach) aannnd don’t you forget your cameras!!

🏖️Bali has the yummiest food to offer, whatever your food palette is; this island has it alll!! Sea food se lekar vegan khana tak…it’s easily available.

🏖️The people here are so friendly.. (FYI…they love Shahrukh Khan.. like literally!!!)

🏖️Expect to go back with a lot of landscape photographs and of course photographs of yourself that would need almost no editing.

Few Facts about Bali :

☻ The name of Bali comes from the temple in India, Balipuram, or small Bali. There are about 20,000 Pura / temples in Bali.
☻ Note that if you visit any of the temples on Bali, you must dress modestly. There are many temples used for different purposes, for worship, cremationand specific ceremonies throughout the year.
☻ You’ll likely see little square things everywhere throughout Bali, all filled with flowers, cookies, rice, and more. You’ll see them on the streets in front of shops, streets, houses — everywhere, every day! This is an offering that locals do three times a day, to say thanks to the gods and to show respect for what they have given us .
☻ Every priest of every religion in Bali is paid by the government giving its true secular identity.
☻ 80% of Bali’s economy runs to tourism
☻ Bali has only two seasons: The dry season (April to October) and the wet season (October to April).
☻ Bali celebrates Neypi day, on which the whole island is closed which means no work, no travel, not even electricity; basically no noise. People spend this day meditating and self – reflecting. Neypi day is actually their New Year.
☻ World’s most expensive coffee Kopi Luwak is one of the specialties of Bali. The coffee beans for this coffee are gathered from an unthinkable object: Civat Cat’s droppings. Remember Morgan freeman talking about it in the movie - The bucket list
☻ While the whole world keeps planning on unique baby names, Bali people know their baby’s name even before they are born. This is because all Bali people have only four different names and that too is in order of the child’s birth. First baby – Wayan, second baby – Made, third baby – Nyoman and the fourth baby – Ketut. The fifth baby is again Wayan and the rest follows in a cycle
☻ Gilli Trawangan doesn’t have any motor vehicles. You can get a cycle for rent or use the Horse Karts - The only public transport system there.
☻1-litre petrol was only 39.49 INR in 2019 when i went last and today its 118.44 INR

This May 7-15 , we are leading a batch to the famous Gaumukh-Tapovan trek (14640 ft)

Type 14640 in the comments to get the itinerary/ Details.

Here is why you should Join this moderate trek ?

1) We are going to Trek Amongst the huge 6500 metre peaks and camping right in front of them. This is the same path even climbers take to the base of the famous mountains like Meru, Bhagirathi and Shivling.

2) We will be trekking right to the snout of the Gangotri glacier. As you stand in front of it , you can’t help but adore how huge it is and how tiny we are. I can’t think of any other easily accessible glacier like this one in india.

3) As we trek , we will have Mt.Bhagirathi ( 22493 feet ) peaks right in front of us , for many days. Its as if the trail was made to witness the beauty of highest peaks in the region.

4)Nights with 100s of shooting stars and starlit mountains will stay in your memory for many years to come. If you are a photographer , carrying a tripod will be well worth it.

5) If lucky, you will be able to spot even Brown bears . ( Last time we spotted 2 of them together )

6) For the conversations with some newly found friends and hot Tea as the evening passes by.

7) If we have time , we can even do the Garatang Gali .

Me & Arun were sitting across each other doing our own work during out 2 month stay in Nepal. I was just looking at our future plans to climb for 2023 & Somehow Mt.Elbrus came into our radar.

Arun : Can’t you create a package that doable for Indians without spending 4000 $ that people usually spend ?

I was like : Maybe we can.

A few phone calls, 2months, a few translations & after a lot of coffee out of excitement, here we are :

This July, DRUMROLLLLLLL ! , we are leading a batch of 10 people to Mt. Elbrus in Russia, one of the seven summits, the tallest mountain in Europe.

I guess dreams do come true if you hold on to it long enough. It's difficult for me to fathom this line as I even write it.

I mean. Imagine, the first trek under this brand was Deoriatal-Chandrashila in Uttarakhand , an easy-moderate trek . From there to what we are going to do in this July, feels like a dream. Isn’t it ?

To all those who have done a few difficult high altitude treks, Welcome to my dream 🙂

Do tag that friend of yours who you think is up for such a climb.

What do you know about Europe’s highest peak ( 18,510 ft ) ?

⛰️ Imagine having the fifth highest of the Seven Summits under your tab .

⛰️Elbrus has 2 main summit routes. The north route needs more experience, self-awareness & cold weather skills. The south route offers better infrastructure in terms of support& accommodation. You already guessed which side we are climbing from ! :D

⛰️North side climb has several crevasses in the beginning of the glacier & climbers go in ropes during first 2-3 hours. Dont worry , you will be given a half a mountain skill training before we attempt the summit.

⛰️Even in the summer, temperatures can be -30C & the wind can be very strong above the snow line .

⛰️Mount Elbrus is a dormant volcano, last erupted around 50 AD.

⛰️The summit is a permanent icecap consisting of 22 glaciers that feed into the Baksan, Kuban, and Malta rivers.

⛰️From 1942 to 1943, German soldiers took over the Priut 11 mountain hut at 4157 meters during the Battle of the Caucasus in World War II. The Soviets retook the hut in 1943.

⛰️Now to the less fancy & dangerous numbers. The average annual death toll on Elbrus is 15-30. So this is in no way, an easy climb . Most of these people fall prey of lack of experience & going without a proper team.

Say “7 summits” in the comments for detailed itinerary.
