REZA
Growing up in Saudi Arabia and India,Reza was lucky enough to take family holidays to Sri Lanka, Egypt, and Singapore. It started a thirst for travel that has taken him all over the world, from Australia, Europe and the US, to S.E. Asia and across Africa. As a child, Reza used the basic family point-and-shoot camera to record their travels. As he grew, his interest in photography also grew and in his 20s’ he obtained his first ‘real’ camera, a Canon 30D. He continued learning and experimenting which led to winning the Canon Photo Marathon in 2010. Judges noted his creativity and photo-journalistic style.
Following that, he received training from a National Geographic photographer which gave him invaluable skills and insight. Reza records his trips through his lens (or should I say ‘lenses’, one is never enough). On this trip, he will pass on his experience of Savannah and wildlife photography to you with optional photography workshops. Reza loves diving and has his PADI advanced open water certification. He seeks out holiday destinations with incredible diving opportunities. The only thing that makes a trip better is if the local food is amazing too. As an epicurian, he explores the local food with gusto - it could be pad thai on the beach from a street vendor in Kamala beach in Thailand, cacao e pepe in a hole-in-the wall trattoria in Rome. Ask him about his favorite Nyama Choma joint (Kenyan grilled meat) in Nairobi, he will try take you there. Reza is also a polyglot, he loves learning new languages and tries his best to communicate in the local language every time he travels. He'll join you as you learn the local culture and a bit of Swahili, so you can say 'Jambo!' 'Asante' and 'Sana' to the locals. Reza’s most amazing trip was through Masai Mara. He recalls the long drive, far from civilisation across miles of desert, hoping they wouldn’t run out of petrol and be left stranded overnight on the plains. His photos tell the story of the huge open savanna, with zebras, lions, and tigers prowling in long grass. The isolation and wildness of Masai Mara earned Kenya a place in his heart.
