Justhopin.in - Social mobility network. Social and physical networking Combined together for a purpose The clever ridesharing service for every day
What was the Motivation:
The fuel prices are increasing day by day. Eventually are putting
general public in pressure to use their personal vehicle efficiently. But, vehicles are not 100 % utilized in terms of occupancy. Wasting too much of fuel
and energy which can be saved
otherwise. Besides fuel price hike, another serious issue being the increasing
traffic. Traffic results in loss of valuable time and frustration. We
need to find a solution for increasing traffic. Also, more vehicles mean more pollution. So a lose-lose situation
in our hands. So, to somehow bring down the expenses burdened by the
traveler was prime motivation behind this project. It’s also the
primary objective. It’s assumed that majority of people thinks that
the regular fuel hike is a burden on their pocket. Also, in case,
people thinking more of environment friendly solution to this
problem, this project address their concerns too. The Problem:
The problem which this project specifically addresses is:
People residing in common area, working in same company goes to
office with their own vehicle. This causes more individual
expenses, more parking spaces, traffic and pollution. Even if
people who are open to share vehicle for common journey, there is
no such platform to bring them together. If they found such
people, there will be lack of trust and their aim to journey together
will most probably fail. There is no such platform to bring commuters together
socially. The sole purpose is bringing such commuters together
socio-physiologically. It only intends to provide such platform; the
rest of the journey needs to carry out by the passengers and
drivers together. Its responsibility is limited to providing such
patrons who are willing to travel together. It does not provide
vehicle or for journey nor provides passengers commercially. How we intend to solve this:
The way in which this project is going to solve the problem of the
commuters is:
1. The ride offers and ride searches are without obligation. You can decide whether you take someone with you or ride with
someone after you have seen who is travelling on your route.
2. Lean back. ‘Sophie’ is searching for you. Enter your daily route as a ride offer or ride search. You will
receive an email, text message or push notification, as soon as a
passenger or a ride you can join has been found.
3. Passengers request drivers. Drivers offer their rides to
passengers. As a passenger, you can see which drivers are able to take you
with them and you can easily request them. As a driver, you can
see potential passengers and you can offer your ride to them. All above objectives will be achieved on the basis of socio-
physiological (Sophie) platform. Bring people together socially
through social networking environment online and enabling them
know each other. The social networking will be implemented
through the website. It will provide various features like their
current status, age their work, birth date etc just like other social
networking sites such as facebook. This will help inclusion of
friends and mutual friends together on one platform then using
this platform for ridesharing. The most important factor, which
is mutual trust between the commuters, is thus encountered. The users registering with the website are closely scrutinized so
that fake profiles are avoided. Verification through sms for
registration, taking driving licenses number or one such identity
proof for registration are some purposed way to register. Website is expected to have features like uploading a profile
picture and in future video to share and chat within trust network. The difference :
The social networking site will enable to bring people together
socially and bring their trust network. Initially, people who know
each other are expected to be in each other’s network, the more
they travel mutually will increase their network. Creation of
groups for common journey will further more enhance the
network. This will result in people efficiently using the occupancy
of the vehicle, sharing the price for the fuel, bringing down the
traffic and saving the environment. This is solution to the problem
stated. Though, the more people come together the more
efficiency in the expected results.
