Mahatma Gandhi Charitable Trust came into existence in 1965 with a sole intent to serve society through culture, education and human service. f of the last century, the Trust took upon itself the mission of establishing an efficiently running 29 institutions providing from K.G. Level in Arts, Commerce and Education faculties. The trust was first to start the first Arts and Commerce College in Rajkot in the name of the philanthropist couple of Rajkot Sheth Shri.Jayantibhai Kundalia and Smt Jashwantiben Kundalia. In the year 1967, This was the beginning of a long journey studded with opening of many primary, secondary and higher schools along with an English Medium Commerce College, another Arts and Commerce College, Minaben Kundalia Mahila Arts and Commerce college, a college of education and business management. Late Shri Labhubhai Trivedi, one of the founding father of Mahatma Gandhi Charitable Trust, Rajkot, was a symbol of social service through education and youth development. His whole life was an endless struggle to realize the dream of cultured and educated youth of our society. His services were also felicitated through his induction as Pro Vice Chancellor of Saurashtra University for quite some time. Mahatma Gandhi Charitable Trust decided to establish a very highly equipped and ultramodern Engineering Complex "Labhubhai Trivedi Institute of Engineering & Technology" at Rajkot, to pay befitting tributes to Late Shri Labhubhai Trivedi, a lifelong servant of society embodiment education and ex-pro-vice chancellor of Saurashtra University.
