We are a professionally managed music academy that exists to nurture musicianship in our students. That’s how we grow our tribe of OCTAVIANS. Our founders come with a deep passion for music and a collective experience of over 80 years in various facets of learning. Our story started in April 2013, with a new age music academy in Bengaluru, India, complete with designed-for-music interiors, dedicat
ed teaching enclosures, high-quality instruments & infrastructure, a music store and an in-house performance space. Our professional recording studio was opened in 2015. Our academy is online since March 2020. Octavium Academy's vision is to provide an engaging and effective music learning experience within an environment that nurtures every student’s aspiration. Our talented, qualified & experienced team of mentors works collectively towards this. Inculcating a passion for the pursuit of music in our students, whether as a hobby or a career, is in constant focus. Music is an art form, a medium of expression, a companion for life and its study should be free of stress is what we firmly believe. Each student’s learning journey is unique. Enabling every learner to discover and follow a path that suits her/him best is what we look to do. Whether it is an assessment, participating in a recital, or attending a master class, options are presented to students at every stage of learning and we encourage them to choose what excites them the most.
On the day we celebrated our anniversary and the week that followed, we asked all our students to draw something for us to put up in our classrooms and out of all the drawings, this drawing by our student Shreya Nayak blew us all away and so as a token of our appreciation, we gifted her a ukulele!

We’re delighted to welcome to the Octavium family Abraham Jacob who is joining us as a Keyboard and Bass Mentor at the academy!
Abraham is a versatile musician with a decade of experience as a pianist, bass player, and keyboardist. His musical expertise spans genres like pop, jazz, funk, and rock, and he has performed internationally in Europe, Central America, and East Africa. In addition to his extensive performance background, Abraham holds a diploma in Sound Engineering and Music Production, currently pursuing an Undergraduate degree in Western Classical Music, Psychology, and English Literature.
Welcoming the brilliant Sanya Fernandes who joins us as Mentor, Western Vocals!
Sanya is a singer and multi-instrumentalist, specialising in pop, soul, jazz, and RnB. She’s been a part of various bands including the all-girl acoustic trio, Oyster Cables as their lead singer and rhythm guitarist.
She has finished an undergraduate, triple major programme in Western classical music, Psychology, and English, and has a diploma in Popular Vocals from London College of Music.

Here’s the choir/acapella group formed and trained by our vocal mentor Chaitra Kalakrishnan that performed that day and they call themselves 'Accidentals'. They performed a mashup of multiple popular songs.
It started as joke, but now it’s a thing! Wessa is in town, all the way from Melbourne, and so we’re hosting the 2nd ‘Wessital’ this Saturday at the academy! A recital led by Wessa’s students is always a hoot, yet brilliant, full of fantastic performances. This one will be no different. So come over, the show starts at 6pm. And yes, Wessa will be performing too!
