A Big Cheer for all our Teachers!
While growing up, teachers are the biggest influence on the life of a child. The sudden reason for this nostalgia is because of Teacher’s Day! Besides, why do we need days to remember the important people in our lives? However, as long as we cherish the memories, we think all is well! So, getting back to our teachers, as children we were all afraid of some of them while we simply loved some others! However, irrespective of how we felt, one emotion that was always unanimous was our respect for all our teachers. We looked up at them and aspired to be like them.
In India, education is more on the lines of instruction rather than interaction but amidst these limits, also all of our teachers managed to form bonds with us for life. It is not the lessons from the endless books that have stayed with us but the colourful memories we have associated with learning those lessons.
Let’s be honest, most of us were not too fond of studying and it was up to our teachers to not only teach us but also to make sure that their classes were like rainbows. The classes had to be full of vivacity and contain a flavour of each of the colours ranging from fun and laughter to calmness and seriousness; so that we could grasp our lessons better. And the teachers did it with aplomb and passion.
True teaching takes place when a teacher goes beyond their duty, while trying to develop and maintain inspirational relations with their students. These teachers make it their responsibility to understand a student’s learning style, interests and background.
When we were in school, most of us probably did not realize the uphill tasks and responsibilities our teachers had to shoulder, but now as grown up professionals, we know how much toil, love and patience went into teaching us… and we cannot thank them enough.
So, today, here is a heartfelt thank you to all our teachers who have nurtured our little delicate minds and a big cheer for them for being a mentor rather than an authority figure. Happy Teacher’s Day!
