In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discuss

ion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.) About TED

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 26 years ago, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. At TED, the world's leading thinkers and doers are asked to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Benoit Mandelbrot, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Two major TED events are held each year: The TED Conference takes place every spring in Long Beach, California (along with a parallel conference, TEDActive, in Palm Springs), and TEDGlobal is held each summer in Edinburgh, Scotland. It’s time to reveal the final speaker for this edition of TEDxIIITA– an entrepreneur based out of India who is one of the country’s top content creators.

Ankur Warikoo is a bestselling author whose first book “DO EPIC SH*T” hit #1 in India on the Nielsen bestsellers list. Warikoo splits his time as a content creator where he engages a large community across all the social media platforms, and as an online educator where he conducts courses on entrepreneurship, career management and personal growth. He loves spending time with first-time entrepreneurs hoping he can help them not make the same mistakes he made when he started up.

Ankur holds an MBA degree from the Indian School of Business where he was awarded the Young Leader Award. In 2008 he co-founded his first startup - Accentium Web along with 2 other batch-mates from ISB that ran websites such as Gaadi.com, Secondshaadi.com amongst others. Ankur was part of Fortune Magazine’s 40 under 40 List for India, LinkedIn India’s Top Voices for 2018, 2019 and 2020, and India’s Top Executives under 40 by Business Today.

With TEDxIIITA 2022 just a few days away, we couldn’t be more excited to unveil the next speaker in our lineup– Tashi Morup!

Tashi Morup is Projects Director of the Ladakh Arts and Media Organisation, Leh, first
joining in 2009. His work largely focuses on media related areas such as photography and
film on the area for LAMO. He has worked as a journalist for the Pioneer newspaper in Delhi and then as the Managing Editor of the magazine Ladags Melong (Mirror of Ladakh). He later went on to start his own weekly newspaper, Magpie. Today Tashi continues to write for Down To Earth, Daily Excelsior, Kashmir Times and PTI amongst others.

He has researched and written extensively on water and glaciers in Ladakh, especially on
their impact in Leh town. Tashi has published several articles in national and international books and journals. He is one of the core members of Vikalp Sangam, a national federation of environmental groups, and at the local level he holds key positions in Ladakh Cultural Forum and International Association of Ladakh Studies.

We’re beyond excited to have Tashi grace TEDxIIITA’s virtual stage on 9th April, 2022 to deliver a talk on a new perspective on Ladakh and the experiences of the community to hold onto their rich environmental and cultural values despite the challenges of modernity. See you there!

Ready for a wave of nostalgia? Our next speaker ruled our young hearts with his craft. He taught us that everyone can become an artist with his easy to follow fun instructions. Ladies and gentlemen our next speaker is none other than the former Art Attack host Gaurav Juyal !

Gaurav Juyal is a learning experience (LX) designer with a focus on education. He specialized in Animation Film Design from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.

A Tedx speaker, he is popularly known for his role as the host of the Disney channel's television series Art Attack. He has over 12 years of experience as a mentor, multi-material artist and learning designer.

He has been actively working in the domain of learning and has catered to more than 15,000 students in person and 9000 teachers online during the covid19 outbreak.

He has worked with organizations like Adobe, Google, PayPal, National Institute of Design, IIT-Roorkee, IIT-BHU, Goethe Institute India, IIM Ahmedabad, and American School of Bombay to name a few. His work in education also extends to rural India like Darbari Waldorf school near Jaisalmer, where he spent a year to co-create learning experiences for children.

Gaurav was a founding faculty at the Institute of Design, JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur, where he mentored students, and faculty and established learning processes in the newly conceived Institute of higher learning.

He continues to work with organisations and institutes of learning, to design good systems, student engagement and rich experiences in education.

As the hype for TEDxIIITA 2022 steadily gains momentum, we're beyond excited to present to you the next great speaker in our lineup– Dr. Dan Gartenberg!

Dr. Gartenberg is a sleep scientist with a PhD in cognitive psychology. He is currently CEO of SleepSpace and an adjunct professor at Penn State University in the Department of Biobehavioral Health. After developing sleep improvement technology for 15 years, Dr. Gartenberg and his team received more than $3 million in grant awards from the National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Aging. The goal of his work is to solve a problem that affects billions of people around the world - poor sleep health.

His current focus is on a solution for treating insomnia that can reduce conversion to Alzheimer’s disease. The digital health technology created by Dr. Gartenberg and his team provides direct interventions on a nightly basis and connects consumers with coaches and clinicians who are given new tools for creating a more personalized and effective healthcare experience. Daniel is an inventor with 4 patents, 10s of peer reviewed publication, and a viral TED TALK with over 4 million views.

We are delighted to unveil our next speaker for the TEDxIIITA 2022 edition– Kartikeya Vikram Sarabhai!

Kartikeya Sarabhai is one of the world's leading environmental educators and a dedicated community builder. He has been awarded the Padma Shri and Sir C.V. Raman Memorial Award among many other awards.

He has served on many committees set up by the Ministry of Environment and Forests and Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India, primarily focusing on the greening of India's formal education system, and initiatives for biodiversity education. He is a member of the Earth Charter International Council and was part of the delegations which represented India at the Earth Summit (1992) in Rio and the Earth Summit 2002 in Johannesburg.

He is the founder and director of the Centre for Environment Education (CEE), a Centre of Excellence supported by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, which works toward developing programmes and materials to increase awareness about the environment and sustainable development.

We heartily welcome Kartikeya to grace TEDxIIITA’s virtual stage on 9th April, 2022 to deliver a talk on “Handprints for Sustainability” where he talks about Sustainable Development and its goals, the concept of Handprints and the need for Individual and collective Handprint. See you there!

We're exhilarated to present to you our next speaker of the TEDxIIITA 2022 edition– Tom Osborn!

Tom Osborn is a community mobilizer, entrepreneur, and research scientist. Born and raised in poverty in rural Kenya, he has started and worked for organizations that aim to disrupt the status quo and lift communities out of poverty.

At 18, he co-founded GreenChar, a social enterprise that provided homes and institutions in rural Kenya and urban slums with clean energy. For his work at GreenChar, he was the youngest recipient of the Echoing Green Fellowship – an award for the world’s best social entrepreneurs. At 19, he was named on the Forbes’ 30 under 30 lists in Social Entrepreneurship, the second youngest person to receive the honour.

He has also been awarded the Women Deliver Social Entrepreneur Award in 2016, the Anzisha Prize Energy Award and many other awards. Salt Magazine has also listed him as 30 under 30 social entrepreneurs. Besides his entrepreneurial experience, Tom graduated from Harvard College with a degree in Psychology (High Honors).

The clocks are ticking noisily lately, and a feeling of giddiness is all over as we proudly announce our very first speaker of the TEDxIIITA 2022 edition– Mira Erda !

Mira Erda is one of India’s foremost female open-wheel racers and the 1st Indian Female Racer to win internationally in Formula 4. She began racing at the age of 9, her first race came after just 25 days of training as she competed in the 2010 JK Tyre National Rotax Max Championship in India.

She shifted to racing the Formula LGB class of race cars in 2014 as the youngest female driver before making her leap to the 2017 JK Euro Series, one of the highest classes of Formula racing in India, where she became the first and only Indian woman to participate.

She has also garnered her first international podium in round 2 of the 2019 Formula 4 series, against experienced racers. Mira has also established a training academy in her hometown, to help youngsters and aspiring racers kickstart their careers in the motorsport community.

Mira would be gracing TEDxIIITA’s virtual stage to talk about “Fuelling Dreams to Reach the Apex”. So save the date, and sit tight to experience a wondrous night of ideas worth spreading on 9th April, 2022.

We all have multidimensional lives and we pursue these dimensions keeping in mind our interests, personalities, and some innate capacities. But we do sometimes find ourselves stuck in these pursuits when we find ourselves at neither of the extremes but in the middle. This week in revisiTED, Actress Harsh*ta Gaur in her TEDxIIITA talk recollects her own relationship with being stuck in the middle and calls us to change our perception and take it rather as our unique power.
