Google includes Kurdish language in the main group of languages on Google Translate. Here is why:

For a new language to be considered, it needs to have a considerable online presence for Google to look for patterns in hundreds of millions of documents to help decide on the best translation available. By detecting patterns in documents that have already been translated by human translators, Google Translate can make intelligent guesses as to what an appropriate translation should be.

When a new language is considered, it is brought under the ambit of alpha-language. When the translation quality for those languages meets Google standards for other languages, they are included in the main group of languages.
