The Dibs Dam in Kirkuk

The Dibis (Dibbis) Dam or Dibis Regulator is a gravel-alluvial fill embankment dam located on Lesser Zab River approximately 130 km upstream from its confluence with the Tigris River. The dam is located directly north of the town of Dibis in Kirkuk Governorate, Iraq. The main-purpose of the Dibis Dam is to divert water from the Lesser Zab River into the Kirkuk Irrigation Project.

The Dibis Dam was constructed between 1960 and 1965 as part of the larger Kirkuk Irrigation Project for the irrigation of 300,000 ha of land.

‏Khasa Dam is one of the dams in Kirkuk Governorate. It was opened in 2011 during , Khasa Dam is located north of Kirkuk in the Kojak region, about 10 km from the center of Kirkuk . Work on it began in 2003 and farmers and livestock benefit from it and it is used For tourism, its capacity reaches one million cubic metres.

Peace and harmony on National Costume Day in Kirkuk

On the occasion of National Costume Day, the Peace and Freedom Organization-PFO, as part of the JISRA project in Kirkuk, organized an event that brought together all components of the city on March 7, 2024.

They visited the heritage of Kirkuk, including Kirkuk Castle. Participants wore traditional national clothing to express peace and love among everyone, celebrating this day.
