The cheerful performance of Iranian gipsies!

The performance is a mixture of dancing, singing, and playing local instruments.

These gipsies (known as Luti) wear showy costumes with long puckered skirts native to southern Iran. Their skirt is adorned with yarn tassels and they tie a shawl around their waist.

In Yazd, joyous ceremonies like wedding receptions often have the sound of this popular musical instrument as part of them! Arabooneh (a kind of Daf) has been played by Muslims and Zoroastrians of Yazd for ages.

Pooran Khanom, the lady in the video, plays the Arabooneh and sings traditional Zoroastrian songs.
