This village is primary human residence in Iran. The houses are hand dug amid the rocks. According to historians the stone engraving of nearly 10000 years old and pottery of nearly 6000 years old were found around this village . It is listed in the UNESCO cultural heritage .This village has been continuously inhabited for 2000 to 3000 years. the history of Maymand belongs to 12000 years back .

Zoroastrian and non Zoroastrian participate in the ceremony of praying and recite Avesta to unite in good deeds .In none of Zoroastrian ceremonies is sign of killing animals. Azar Goshasb means fire of worriers.
