She is going to marry the grandson of a family friend who is studying overseas in a western nation. Pasandideh's sisters come at the old house one by one, and everything is set ready for her marriage.
On this joyous day of the wedding, five generations of the same family gather at the home of their aging grandparents, and they all express their happiness in a unique ways.

This Iranian drama was staged in the Gilan province in the country's north in 1986. The actors and actresses converse in Gilaki dialect.
A survey of 150 Iranian critics and experts for the Persian film magazine "Picture world" in November 1999 determined that Bashu, the Little Stranger was the "Best Iranian Film of all time." It was said that this movie served as inspiration for the 2004 Malayalam film Kaazhcha.
The outstanding director of the film "Bahram Beizai" is a master in Persian literature, arts, and Iranian studies in addition to being a filmmaker, playwright, theater director, screenwriter, and film editor. He is regarded as the forerunner of a group of filmmakers whose output is frequently referred to as the Iranian New Wave.

The Sasanian Empire (224-651 CE, also given as Sassanian, Sasanid or Sassanid) was the last pre-Islamic Persian empire, established in 224 CE by Ardeshir I, son of Papak, descendant of Sasan. The Empire lasted until 651 CE when it was overthrown by the Arab Rashidun Caliphate.

A famous stone carving in Naghsh-e Rostam shows the Sassanid king Shapur I on horseback, with the Roman Emperor Valerian bowing to him in submission, and Philip the Arab (an earlier emperor who paid Shapur tribute) holding Shapur's horse, while the dead Emperor Gordian III, killed in battle, lies beneath it.
