How not to get cold at the beginning of autumn in Iran! 🍂 🍂 🍂 🍂
From September 15th till October 15th we are entering to autumn 🍂 in Iran. The weather gradually is getting colder but for those who travel in this time of the year we highly recommend to read the following information:
We are still in summer during this time! Don’t forget that you are traveling to a country with a majorly warm climate! In this time of the year you need to know that the temperature during the day is still around 30 degrees, as it get closer to the end of October it is getting colder and colder. So it is highly recommended to wear summer clothes during the day (based on dress codes of Iran).
But for nights you will need something warmer like a light jacket or a warm shirt. As it get closer to the end of October it is better to have some warmer clothes specially for nights.
We hope you have a great time here in Iran!

Wind-catcher is like a chimney whose end is in the underground and the top is set over a specific height on the roof and were built at the entrance of the house over underground water reservoirs or ponds built inside the house. The dry and warm wind will pass over a pond with a fountain gets cool and wet through evaporation. The Badgir's material again plays another role. Due to high fluctuation of temperature differences between day and night in this climate and night time coldness, Badgir which is made with mud-brick, gets cool by radiation and convection. The system works, when there is no wind, but when wind is blowing this system does not have problems. Because during the day, if there is wind, then cool air flows faster and at night, with wind, it may absorb the heat of the walls, because the night wind is cool enough.

In the past, without modern facilities, it was only the intelligent arquitectura of the buildings that enabled people to tolerate the hot summer. The ventilation structures called BADGIRs were the most important means by which the interior was cooled. The wind catcher operates according to the condition of the wind and sun radiation in the region. In ancient times and in traditional buildings in arid and dry regions the air trap functioned like the present modern air conditioning system.

What is Badgir?!
The buildings in the Iranian desert regions are constructed according to the specific climatic conditions and differ with those built in other climates. Due to lack of access to modern heating and cooling equipment in ancient times the architects were obliged to rely on natural energies to render the inside condition of the buildings pleasant.

Zoroastrians have always been populous in Yazd. Even now roughly ten percent of the town's population adhere to this ancient religion, and though their Atashkadeh (Fire Temple) was turned into a mosque when Arabs invaded Iran, a dignified new fire temple was inaugurated thirteen hundred years later.
This Atashkadeh (Fire Temple) intitates meet there, but nobody apart form the Moubad (Grand Priest), a descendant of the Magi, reciting the Avesta, has access to the Moubad-e Moubadan (Saint of Saints) where for the past 3000 years a fire burns in a brazen vessel. The fire itself is a representation of what is good.

The Jame Mosque (Friday Mosque) crowned by a pair of minarets, the highest in Persia, the portal's facade is decorated from top to bottom in dazzling tile work, predominantly blue in colour. Within there is a long arcaded court where, behind a deep-set south-east Ivan, is a sanctuary chamber. This chamber, under a squat tiled dome, is exquisitely decorated with faience mosaic: its tall faience Mihrab, dated 1365, is one of the finest of its kind in existence.

The Mosque was largely rebuilt between 1324 and 1365, and is one of the outstanding 14th century buildings in Persia. The tile work has recently been skilfully restored and a modern library built to house the mosque's valuable collection of books and manuscripts.

Hormuz Island has an area of 42 km2 (16 sq mi). It is covered by sedimentary rock and layers of volcanic material on its surface. The highest point of the island is about 186 metres (610 ft) above sea level. Due to a lack of precipitation, the soil and water are salty. Specialists have helped cultivar white mangrove or Hara trees to grow in the climate. Due to the lack of fresh water, Iranian engineers have constructed a water pipeline from the mainland. There are many virgin beaches that go all around the island.
