We at Iceland Fishing Guide offer you a chance to make use of the local knowledge acquired by fishing in the area for a long time ensuring that you make the most of your time to fish in Iceland. Our focus is mostly on fishing North and East Iceland and the reasons for that are simple. In North and East Iceland the country is not as densely populated as in the south giving you a chance to fish rive

rs with a much lower fishing pressure than the rivers in South and South West Iceland. About 220.000 people of the 300.000 Icelanders live in the greater Reykjavík area and the surrounding towns making it by far the most densely populated are in Iceland. It is a given that the most populated place in Iceland offers rivers that have more fishing pressure than the once further from the area. However there are some people that have a limited amount of time for a trip so in those cases we do our best to find great options close to Reykjavík.

🎣 The Ultimate Angler's Dilemma:
Imagine standing at the edge of pool 41 on river Mýrarkvísl. 🏞️ You spot a beautiful brown trout rising and feeding consistently, while multiple large Atlantic salmon glide just below the surface. 🐟✨

If you only had one cast, what would you do?

🎯 Option 1: Drift a delicate dry fly for the brown trout?
🎯 Option 2: Swing a classic salmon fly in front of the salmon?

We want to hear from you! Drop your choice in the comments below and let us know why. 💬👇

🎣 Double trouble! 🐟🐟

It was the kind of day you dream about: the sun was shining bright, the skies were crystal clear, and there was barely a whisper of wind.

Fishing side by side, they cast their lines into the sparkling water and almost instantly, both rods bent at the same time. A double hookup!

What followed was a mix of focus, teamwork, and laughter as they worked to land their catches without crossing lines. Soon enough, two stunning brown trout were in the net, side by side.

And the best part? watching those two fish swim away together, ensuring the magic of this place lives on for years to come.
