What's better than 1 Atlantic salmon? Two Atlantic salmon of course! Rob Giannino on the left and on the right side. Shortly after Rob hooked this beautiful autumn coloured male, they wanted to see if they could make it happen, i mean how sick would a double Atlantic salmon hookup be? as if it isn't hard enough to hook and land one of them... It only took a few casts until Daniel had a fish on... What an incredible day on the river!

We hope you had a wonderful time during the holidays, filled with joy, relaxation, and maybe even a little time by the water!

Though the rivers in Iceland may be frozen at the moment, the urge to fish never fades! Ice fishing is the perfect way to shorten the winter while we eagerly await spring. There’s something magical about being on a frozen lake, enjoying the crisp air, and listening to the complete silence while you wait for the next fish pull your line.

On the last day of the season on river Mýrarkvísl, Jim experienced an unforgettable moment at Pool 42 (Krókhylur).

This stunning Atlantic salmon measured 95 cm (37.4 inches), it took a tiny treble hook fly named Bóbó, size #16 stripped slowly across the pool. It's amazing to think that a fish of this size could be enticed by such a small fly, and that it stayed on trough out the 25 minute fight that included, chasing the fish up and down the entire pool a few times, several jumps, and untangling the fly line of a rock!

This pool was home to many 90+ cm salmon this season, It’s a testament to the beauty and power of nature, and the unforgettable experiences Iceland's rivers have to offer.

🎣 Double trouble! 🐟🐟

It was the kind of day you dream about: the sun was shining bright, the skies were crystal clear, and there was barely a whisper of wind.

Fishing side by side, they cast their lines into the sparkling water and almost instantly, both rods bent at the same time. A double hookup!

What followed was a mix of focus, teamwork, and laughter as they worked to land their catches without crossing lines. Soon enough, two stunning brown trout were in the net, side by side.

And the best part? watching those two fish swim away together, ensuring the magic of this place lives on for years to come.

Breaking News: A new fissure eruption began on November 20, at 11:14 near Sundhnúksgígar crater, marking the seventh eruption in the Reykjanes Peninsula area since late 2023.

✨ What You Need to Know:
✅ Air traffic to and from Iceland operates normally, and the country remains a safe destination.
✅ The eruption's effects are localised to the eruption site with road closures and do not threaten people.
✅ All services across Iceland are running as usual.

Safety and Preparedness:
Iceland’s infrastructure and response teams are highly experienced in managing volcanic activity, ensuring the safety of residents and visitors alike. Authorities remain vigilant, and the affected areas near Grindavík are being closely monitored.

📍 The town of Grindavík, evacuated as a precaution, is the only area impacted.
