Safarihestar horse rental

The Safarihestar horse rental is located on the south shore of Lake Mývatn at the farm Álftagerði 3, just 400 m. We offer guided riding tours in beautiful surroundings with a nice view over the whole lake. The tours are one or two hours depending on people´s desires. Longer tours can be arranged for very experienced riders. We offer good horses (tolters) for :

She's named after an ancient norse myth: The keeper of apples and granter of eternal youth ✨ To us she is a very promising although rather short youngster.

Main Character alert 🚨

Besides our lovely horses we also have some other 4-legged friends that love some attention 🐏. We keep roughly 80 sheep on the farm, during winter they stay mostly inside where it's nice and warm. Whereas in summer, they get to live out in the highlands. So to visit these fuzzy buddies, now's the perfect time ⌚.

In all seriousness: We just opened our winter tours! These tours might very well be the highlight of any trip, as we go out on the ice and cross the frozen lake Mývatn. If you love snow and ice, come visit us!
