In our private tours we invite you to go all over Iceland and this video we got on a mountain called Heiðarfjall, contains an old military base, Langanes Air Station (H-2) that was established in 1951, shortly after the return of United States military forces to Iceland and closed in 1970.
The original H-2 site today is abandoned, but some foundations are still there. The AN / FPS-117 radar tower remains at H-2A but is unused.

It was amazing to go to the eruption last night and see the change that has taken place in the area since the first weeks, of course we took with us a camera and a drone.
After coming home we put together this video that gives you a little idea of what forces are at work there and how fun this experience is to see, with the naked eye. ..!
