✈️🇮🇸Despite the fact that most tourists go to Iceland for natural beauties such as volcanoes, geysers or waterfalls, it is definitely worth exploring the artifacts that mother nature did not give us. We mean the unique spectacle of the wreckage of the Douglas DC-3 Dakota, which crashed in 1973 and is now located in the Sólheimasandur black sand beach area.
If you want to get a closer look at the wreck, then here you have the opportunity to combine this unique experience with a ride on four-wheelers or take a bus trip, which takes only 10-15 minutes. At the same time, you can see the view of the ocean and the cliffs of Dyrhólaey during this excursion.

It is more than likely that there will be another volcanic eruption in Iceland in the coming days! This is the area around the Fagradalsfjall volcano, which is located on the Reykjanes peninsula, which is close to Keflavík Airport and the very popular Blue Lagoon natural thermal springs. On average, about 500 earthquakes are measured in Iceland per week, but in this area there were up to 1,600 in one day. The pattern of these earthquakes is very similar to the last two in March 2021 and August 2022. So we can probably look forward to another unforgettable spectacle!
