Snorri West Minnesota A fantastic opportunity to explore Icelandic settlements in North America! Though based in Minneapolis/St. Apply now for Summer 2012!

The Snorri West program is an effort to build community ties between Iceland and the United States and Canada by enabling young people (ages 18-26) from Iceland to visit and explore communities where Icelanders have settled in North America over the past 150 years. The Snorri West program begins in Minnesota where participants will learn where Icelanders settled in Minnesota, and how these early s

ettlers contributed to the development of the state. They will get to know the descendents of those early settlers living in our communities today. Paul, Minnesota for the first two weeks, participants will also have the opportunity to travel to other areas of the state to explore Icelandic communities such as Duluth and Minneota. Participants will get to experience daily life in Minnesota by staying with families active in local Icelandic community groups. Exciting local events and fun activities will give participants a taste of all that Minnesota has to offer. Following their stay in Minnesota, participants will stay in North Dakota, USA and Manitoba, Canada for the remainder of the program. www.snorri.is
