What makes the ice cave blue? The refraction of light. Glacier ice is compact ice with little or no air within. As light passes through the glacier, only the wave-length of the blue light makes its way through the ice, making them appear blue💙💙💙

Myvatn was wonderful! We had a great time, we were there for a while. Then went to the caves and the mud pits. Roads were a bit snowy and it was very cold overall but had some great fun!

When it comes to food, 's best kept secret is downtown and is local and very authentic in vibes. In a cozy environment that hasn't changed at all at least for the past 13 years ( I remember it looking exactly the same when I stepped in for the first time in 2010) they do have the best burger in town! Nothing compares to this, believe me!
And we don't tell tourists about it! 🤫

This is one of the reasons you should get a local to plan your next Iceland trip!!!
