South Central is a family owned business providing various accommodations types and excursions. Solo travelers, families and groups should be able to find accommodations suited for their needs while exploring and traveling in in the south and west region of Iceland.
Fully equipped 40 m² apartment in Selfoss with accommodation for four guests. Lets you feel like your home on holiday. The beds in the bedroom are made and can be used as one double bed or two single beds. Bedding’s are also available for the living room sofa which can be used as one double bed. The living room at South Central offers a TV and seating area. Kitchen facilities include a stove, microwave and refrigerator. The private bathroom has a shower.
The Motel contains five 30 m² apartments that will provide you with free WiFi, a TV, a seating area and cable channels. There is a full a kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator. Featuring a shower, the private bathroom also comes with a hairdryer. You can enjoy views of the mountainous landscape from the room, or venture out and explore the terrain on foot. There are many opportunities for hiking in the majestic Icelandic nature. A swimming pool and children’s playground are also found 50 meters from the property. Reykjavik Domestic Airport is located 85 km from the property.

The Guesthouse
Located in a lush geothermal area near many of South Iceland's attractions, South Central Gueshouse welcomes guests to relax in various types of accommodation.
The house was built in 1983 by a visionary named Ingibjörg Jóhannsdóttir, a former farmer and midwife. Her dream was to serve the elderly people in the area and provide them with a home and the service they needed. She established the fist privadly owned and runed retirement home in Iceland at the age of 65. Change of needs though ower the years twards the elderly made the home less needed as hospitalation and nurcing care has become the main service today. At the year of 2017 it was decided to change the home into a guesthouse as it continues to serve people, not the eldrely from the are but people of all ages from all over the world.
Here you will find beds in shared dorm rooms, private rooms with a shared bathroom or a private apartment with up to six beds available. Enjoy our facilities and the beautiful surroundings in the company of other travelers.
The Country Apartment
The Country Apartment is a 50 m² two bedroom apartment. In the living room, there is a sofa that can be turned into a bed that sleeps two. So, all in all, there can be six people sleeping in the apartment comfortably. There is a free WiFi, a TV, a seating area and cable channels. In the kitchen you will find utilities for six people a full a kitchenette with a microwave and a refrigerator.
The bathroom is big and bright with a shower , hairdryer and a washing machine . Four towels are provided on default and more if needed.
Right next to the apartment is a hot tub for relaxation after a long day of traveling.
You can enjoy views of the mountainous landscape from the apartment, or venture out and explore the terrain on foot. There are many opportunities for hiking in the majestic Icelandic nature. The volcano Hekla can be seen out the window (at a safe distance though) and Reykjavík Domestic Airport is located 85 km from the property.
