Getting up close and personal with some gentle giants! 🐋✨ There’s nothing quite like watching these whales as they swim gracefully alongside us, sometimes even giving us a little show! We were lucky to see both a close approach and that iconic spout of mist as they surfaced. Nature really has a way of leaving us in awe. 💙

Come join us on the water for unforgettable encounters like these.

Have you seen the fringed edges inside a whale’s mouth? Those are baleen plates! Used by baleen whales to filter feed, these sturdy yet flexible plates trap small fish and krill as water rushes out.

Ethical whale watching and all areas of ethical tourism are very important to us. You may think that because we keep our distance we don’t get super close to the whales, but the opposite is true. Whales and dolphins are incredibly intelligent. They learn from their experiences and can recognize individual boats. Years of being calm and respectful around them mean that the creatures aren’t scared of us so that they will come up to the ship, rather than us approaching them. 💙

Did you know that the Northern Lights are caused by solar wind particles colliding with gases in the earth’s atmosphere? 🌌 The different colors you see depend on the type of gas—oxygen creates green and red hues, while nitrogen gives off purple and blue. Join us every evening at 9 PM as we sail out in search of the Northern Lights.

This shot captures the moment our guests got an up-close view of humpback whales. Each fluke has a unique pattern, much like a human fingerprint, which researchers use to identify individual whales. Witnessing such a powerful display reminds us of the importance of preserving their marine habitat.
