🌋VOLCANO UPDATE🌋 29/11/23

Traveling to Iceland and worried about an eruption? Well things are looking a lot better than they did a week ago.

Earthquake activity has gone down significantly, and scientists say the chance of eruption becomes less likely each passing day.

The state of emergency has been lifted and residents of Grindavík have been allowed to return to the town. Although the town is badly damaged.

An eruption cannot be ruled out however. If it does happen, then it is most likely to happen ON LAND, north of Grindavík.

An eruption on land results in lava flow in most cases, not an ash cloud as has been highlighted in media.

So travelling to Iceland is safe and always has been safe. And even if we do have an eruption, then it will most likely still be safe.

Make sure to follow local news sources like RÚV for reliable updates about the sitation.
