We had an amazing amount of snowfall the last few days. From basically nothing to proper snow tunnel! Who knows how long it'll last but we'll enjoy it while it's here!

We've had two days of crazy snowfall out here in the East. So much so that two towns have been partially evacuated, which is never something to celebrate, but you better believe we'll be hitting the slopes when things have had a chance to settle!

to the time I was able to throw a surprise birthday party at the edge of the world. We ferried cake, charcuterie, coffee and juice to the riverside while I went biking with my unsuspecting clients. We came upon a fully decked out table decorated with wildflowers and the amazing scenery all around. A perfect day in the wilderness.

It's amazing what a little validation can do for your confidence. I had almost convinced myself that the landscape around Borgarfjörður eystri wasn't a good fit for great skiing and winter travel but just two days with offering his perspective has completely debunked that nonsense. After two great days we're convinced that the local slopes have amazing potential for anyone willing to work for them. The Beastfjords live up to their name.

After over 100cm of snowfall bookended with rain and freeze cycles, we finally got calm winds and clear skies. The sun is starting to rise high over the mountains which really lifts my spirit. Soon we'll have bright mornings and evenings and plenty of time for adventures.
