Anything is possible in Iceland and we do it every day ;-)

Outstanding new composers and genre-hopping experiments are not the sole reasons the Iceland Symphony Orchestra’s UK tour is so anticipated – the country itself is a seed bed for musical talent

We went to a performance of the opera "FIDELIO - an experiment" tonight. To begin with, it was a real pleasure to go to the opera again. Óperudagar / Reykjavík Opera Days deserve praise for their excellent staging and approach to this Opera. Thanks to the entire crew.
And remember that Iceland is open and the same goes for the opera, the symphony and so many other cultural events.

We're doing something right. The only green country on this map in Europe is Iceland at the moment.
Hopefully we will be able to greet guests soon!

But until then, be safe, wear masks and do not forget to disinfect at all times ;-)

Iceland is the only country in Europe with a green status when in comes to COVID-19.

Þarna ætluðum við að vera í kvöld með hóp af gestum í samstarfi við Vinafélag Sinfóníuhljómsveitar Íslands að hlusta á þennan flutninginn. Við vorum búinn að setja saman pakka með ferð á tónleikana, og með möguleika á að bæta við nokkrum mismunandi óperum og öðrum tónleikum, skoðurnarferðum og myndlistarsýningum. Covidið stoppaði það allt saman.
En eins og Scarlett O'Hara sagði hér um árið “After all… tomorrow is another day” og um leið og við sigrumst á þessari veiru þá verðum við tilbúin í ferðir af þessum toga á ný, en í kvöld er hægt að hlusta gegn vægu gjaldi á hágæða streymi sem má nálgast hér:

Nýtt tónverk Önnu Þorvaldsdóttur, sem samið er eftir pöntun frá Berlínarfílharmóníunni, verður frumflutt í beinu vefstreymi frá Berlín í kvöld.
