One thing that makes us unique is that we take the time to give each rider a prep lesson in our large indoor arena before heading out on the trail ride. This is to ensure that you’re comfortable on your horse and prepared for your ride. 🤎🐴

Meet Glúmur frá Staðarhúsum, owned by Nökkvi! 🤎 Nökkvi has started him up himself and trained him. Maybe you will see them on the treks this summer? This morning, he was spotted in his favorite hangout, the wetlands, where our amazing barn manager Kirsti was making sure the herd got their hey. 🌾

Eventhough many horses are kept in big herds outside, all year around, some of our training and competition horses are stalled in the winter. Some are clipped and wrapped in blankets! Eventhough the winter can be harsh they still go outside many hours a day, most of them with a companion 🥰 A clipped horse does not sweat as much and dries much quicker. We usually do a bib clip (clipping the hair on the neck and chest) will keep the horse cooler when working but still with plenty of fuzz to keep them warm and regulate the heat themselves. Do you clip your horse?
