For June we’re doing things differently on Patreon by making a series on “The Making of a Show Horse.”

Join us this June for this exciting series of demonstrations on developing Icelandic horses at every stage of their training journey to be a show horse. We will showcase the training of a young stallion, promising horses, and a high-performing competition horse.

Throughout the month, we will present video demonstrations to guide you through the process of training Icelandic show horses, from their early beginnings to their peak competitive performance.

By the end of June, you’ll have experienced a thorough series of demonstrations on training Icelandic horses at various stages of their development, including insights into the making of a show horse. Additionally, the live Q&A session will enhance your learning.

Did you know we offer accommodations at Hestaland? 🏔️🏡

We love helping create memorable experiences for people and look forward to doing that for years to come. Set on our Icelandic horse farm, 17 km from Borgarnes town centre, these properties are around 2 km off Iceland’s Ring Road.

They all feature free use of an outdoor hot tub with amazing mountain views and horses roaming in fields nearby. 🏔️🧖🏼‍♀️

Guests can choose to stay in one of the 8 bedrooms of our guesthouse or in one of our private 6-bedroom cabins.

Behind the scenes with Friðsemd and Guðmar. 📸✨ We at Hestaland wants to congratulate Guðmar’s success for his winter season in Meistaradeild and Vesturlandsdeild.

We know all the dedication and passion that he puts into his horses on a daily basis and love to see how that shows in his performances too! 🥳👏🏼

Guðmar won the individual competition of Vesturlandsdeild. Got first place in VD and third place in MD in Flying Pace with Friðsemd frá Kopavogi, fifth place in T1 with Kata frá Korpu in VD and fourth place in V1 with Skyndir frá Staðarhúsum along with exceptional performances with Sókrates frá Skáney in Gæðingalist and T1 in MD.

Guðmar won the individual competition of Vesturlandsdeild. 💫 First place in Flying Pace with Friðsemd frá Kopavogi, fifth place in T1 with Kata frá Korpu and fourth place in V1 with Skyndir frá Staðarhúsum!

Hestaland’s Sagas & Vikings tour is guided by author and historian Nancy Marie Brown. During this seven-day tour, you’ll visit museums and saga sites, explore glaciers, volcanoes, lava caves, hot springs, waterfalls, and black beaches, and enjoy gourmet meals based on local specialties. 🌋🌷And of course, horseback riding lessons and trail rides are available for those looking for even more adventure. 🐴

Hestaland has a team in the Western League competition(Vesturlandsdeild). The first show of the season (four gait) was last weekend. Gudmar and Ástarpungur had a great night and won 🏆It was an extra special evening because Kathy Love, Ástarpungur's co-owner and breeder, was in town to celebrate with us 😊 photos:

Yesterday Guðmar joined Alendis TV to draw the starting list for the T2 loose-rein tölt competition for Meistaradeildin, the champions league of Icelandic horses. They also explained the discipline, and since the graphics are in English, we wanted to share this video with you. Guðmar will also do the live commentary in Icelandic during the competition tomorrow, but who knows, maybe he will be commenting in English soon! :)
