Þingvellir National Park (Thingvellir) is a part of the famous Icelandic Golden Circle and historically the most important place on the island, approximately 45 kilometers from Reykjavik 😊

In 930, the Icelandic parliament Althing was established at Thingvellir, and it’s the oldest still existing legislature in the world 📖

Besides that, the National Park is fascinating due to its unique geological location between the North American and Eurasian Plates. The result is volcanic and tectonic activity; a rift valley, gorges, basalt rocks, waterfall, and fissures have been created here 🌋
