Another image taken from the weekend. A rainbow cloud can occur because of something called cloud iridescence with the sun from behind. (a lustrous rainbowlike play of color caused by differential refraction of light waves) , this still leaves a very mysterious fascinating image .

Boy, am I glad I checked the forecast last night. I nearly didn’t bother, but when I did and saw there was mist in the forecast for Glastonbury I couldn’t resist it.

After a late evening flurry of battery charging I set out early with my fingers and toes crossed that the forecast was accurate. And for once it was spot on!!

I am so excited to finally encounter some mist circling the Tor. I’ve been after this for ages now so I’m over the moon to have been at the right place at the right time.

My fingers didn’t thank me, it was bloody freezing this morning, but that was a small price to pay. I need to have a proper look through the pictures tomorrow, but I couldn’t resist rushing a quick one off.
