Questo fine settimana infatti in Città Alta sono presenti diverse "postazioni" nelle quali è possibile assaggiare, degustare e acquistare formaggi bergamaschi e non!

When you finish a tour and feel like you deserve a reward! 😁🏆

I'm a little biased because I've eaten hundreds of ice creams from them, but in my opinion, Carmen Gelato is the best gelato in Bergamo.

I know, here in Bergamo we are famous for the "Stracciatella" flavor but have you ever tried their "𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐨" (salty pistacchio)? it's super 😋 !

By the way, if you show my logo in Carmen's stores, you will also get their "artisanal cone" at the same price as the regular one 💪

Trust me: the artisanal cone + salty pistachio combo will make you fly! 🚀

What will we visit and what will I tell during the tour?

I know, we often think of guided tours as a boring activity full of dates, names, and information that we forget in 6 seconds.

I really like to travel and have done many tours as a tourist.
I, therefore, tried to create an experience very similar to the “walking with a friend who tells you about his city”.

The experience, which lasts approximately 1h30 / 1h45, includes:
– The most characteristic areas
– External visit to the main monuments
– Several “hidden gems”
– Personal anecdotes

Among the things I really enjoy in autumn in Bergamo is definitely walking along the Mura Venete. 🍁🍂🌰

Our UNESCO heritage site, it is definitely one of the best places to enjoy the fantastic temperature these days! 😎

Ciao👋🏻! I'm Matteo and I'm not an ordinary tour guide.

I am actually a “tour leader” which is slightly different, but let’s go in order.
If you’ve come this far it means you want to know more about me so here’s some information!

Besides the more boring stuff (my name is Matteo, I’m 31 and I was born and raised in Bergamo) I want to tell you what I like and how I created Walking Cap!

In fact, there are several things I love to do:
✈ Travelling
🗣 Storytelling
🍕Eating
🎸Playing the guitar

I discovered the existence of Free Walking Tours in 2015 on a trip to Portugal and since then every visit abroad for me is an opportunity to take one!

A few years ago some Australian friends, whom I met just through a free walking tour, came to visit me in Bergamo and it was the first time I acted as a “storyteller” for friends!

So, also thinking about my passions, I started studying, got my tour leader license, and now here I am!

My main job is something else (if you need consulting in marketing and communication I am at your disposal 😬) but I love to meet other travelers and share with them something of my beloved Bergamo!

Let’s start the adventure on the “Walking Cap” page! But why this name and this logo?

For quite some time I have been accompanying tourists in visiting my beloved Bergamo through free walking tours!

When I organized the first "walking tour" I needed an object to make myself recognized and, not having a flag and not being attracted by the classic umbrella, the first object that came into my hands was ... a yellow hat!

Since then my (horrible) hat has been "walking" with me through the streets of Città Alta and has recently become part of my official logo as well!

So see you in the streets of Bergamo..with my "Walking Cap" 😊 !
