I SOLISTI DI CREMONA
The Solisti di Cremona ensemble was formed in 1992 by Marco Fracassi and a number of highly professional instrumentalists.
The desire to elaborate on the ancient music performance practice motivated the ensemble to promote a series of musicological studies under the title of Cremonae Musica.
The four already published volumes include the opera omnia of Nicolò Corradini (? -1646) and a first recording of vocal and instrumental works of Tarquinio Merula (1594 -1665). Two more issues relative to the latter are under preparation.
The group performed in many European countries, in the USA and Asian countries, also within important Music Festivals such as
Salzburg, Vienna, Paris, New York, Washington, Madrid, El Jem, Salonika, Rodi, Skiatos, Dacca, Istanbul, Bled, Brezice, Toledo, Segovia etc.
The recording production is mainly related to Cremonese 17th century authors. Particularly relevant is a CD dedicated to Monteverdi and coeval authors which has been granted the five stars excellence by specialized critics and a CD with the first integral recording of the instrumental songs of Nicolò Corradini.
The Solisti di Cremona ensemble play on ancient baroque bow string instruments.
The group leader is Marco Fracassi, cremonese musician who has performed in countless concerts as orchestra conductor, organist and harpsychord player.
