….cause September is almost a second spring, with warmer colours. The sea water is also warmer immediately after summer, beaches are much more enjoyable than during the high season and September is definitely a relaxing month for those who are lucky enough to enjoy a holiday in such period.

Das Anwesen steht auf einem Hügel mit schöner Aussicht auf die Umgebung. Das Haus war sauber und gut eingerichtet. Der 16m lange Swimmingpool umgeben von blühenden Oleandern war wunderschön. Frederica ist eine zuvorkommende, nette und hilfsbereite Vermieterin. Wir können einen Aufenthalt bei ihr empfehlen.

One of the destinations I recommend on a rainy day is “Museo di scienze naturali” at Certosa di Calci, the Certosa itself is stunning and the museum very interesting, especially with kids. Nearby there is a chiesa romanica in Calci, dating back to XI’s century. And if you want to have a bite of good local cuisine I suggest either Trattoria di Montemagno or Margó

“Un tuffo dove l’acqua é più blu”these are the words of a famous Italian song that fits almost perfectly with the situation nearby. A mere 18 minute drive will lead guests staying at La Casetta di Castell’Anselmo to the coast, this is where I usually go for my summer lunch break. Those who prefer sandy beaches will have to drive a bit longer but still less than 30 minutes, depending on the destination chosen.
This location is called Marina del Boccale, there is also a “baretto” to drink, have a bite of something, enjoy the aperitivo at sunset

For those who love hiking, the Apuane Alps are a stunning destination. They’re a bit steep and enjoy amazing views of the Versilia coast at west and Garfagnana at east. The area is reachable in about one hour car drive from La Casetta di Castell’Anselmo
