I am Ana Patricia, Italian-Brazilian, I live in Italy for 15 years now, I’m graduated in Library Science at the Londrina State University (UEL-PR), in Tourism Sciences by the University of Calabria, with a Master in Cultural Tourism from Fondação Garrone, partner of University of Catania, in Sicily; tourist guide in Portuguese and English and I also have the qualification of tour escort in Europe;
I am the founder / creator of Touristico – Italia Brasil Consulting and founder of the Travelling for Italy (with more than 140.000 readers/month). Since 2012 I work with the promotion and appreciation of Italian territory in general and since 2015, in a more specific and concrete way, I started to promote this wonderful, but still little known region: Calabria! Calabria is still an unexplored region, but is full of charms and attractions that suit all tastes. Some reasons explain the low tourism such as: geographic difficulties, the fact that tourists search only for the most well-known and famous cities, lack of information. But from now on, this problem will end because you will have the opportunity to unveil the secrets of this delightful region. The beginning of this discovering starts here on the site and ends on the land, when you will have the pleasure of meeting Calabria in person (if possible with me!). Our website will give you information about the ‘more touristic’ Calabria and the ‘less touristic’ Calabria, therefore more authentic, which is made by the medieval villages! This region has many medieval villages embedded between rocks, often built overlooking the sea, to protect against Saracen invasions or in pleasant scenic corners where life still happens according to the rhythms of all seasons. Calabria, like the whole south Italy, was colonized by several peoples, and the region was given great importance by the Greeks, who called it Magna Graecia: they colonized land of greater importance than theirs own colony. After the Greeks, came the Romans, the Byzantines, Normans, Swabians, Angevins and Aragonese. Exactly for this reason, this land is so diverse and in every part of the Calabrian territory we will find different cultural and artistic heritage! And last but not least, you cannot miss the chance to know the real ‘Calabrese’ culture through its traditions and flavors that in other places are just a memory. Come and meet Calabria with me! This region will surprise you! Ana Patricia
