Staying at Heathrow airport for a 6-hour layover in London was too boring…

So, I decided to show the girls where their father and I met and say hello to a dear friend!

Although Lilou wasn’t feeling very well and we were exhausted after the nine-hour flight, the girls loved The London Vibes.

We have been at:

🔸Carnaby Street
🔸Soho

And, finally, we had some quick bites in a cozy pub.

What is Enrollment on Arrival? ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Global Entry applicants who are conditionally approved can complete their interviews, the last step of the process, while they are clearing through United States Customs and Border Protection or Pre-Clearance.

Enrollment on Arrival (EoA) is ONLY available at participating international airports in the United States and select Pre-Clearance locations and is NOT available on domestic connections.
Check the CBP.gov website for an updated list of participating airports.

When you land at the international terminal, follow the signage directing you to CBP officers who can complete your Global Entry interview during your admissibility inspection.

In addition to your entry document (e.g., your passport), you will need documents providing evidence of residency. Examples are a driver's license (if the address is current), mortgage statement, rental payment statement, utility bill, etc. This is not required for minors.

While Europe doesn’t have major violent crimes, purse snatching, pickpocketing, phone grabbing, and general ripping off of tourists are pretty standard — especially in places where tourists gather. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​A money belt tucked underneath your clothes is always a good idea, and If you're not constantly on guard, you'll have something stolen. .

Should you plan your vacation activities and Museum?​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Booking tickets for museums and popular attractions in advance is a smart move to avoid long lines and the risk of attractions reaching their maximum capacity. This is particularly crucial when visiting major cities like Paris, where attraction demand is high.

When I was 25 years old, I moved from Milan to Paris and had the privilege of visiting the Louvre. So, I wanted to show it to Mia and Lilou last summer. Unfortunately, it was already too late when I tried to buy the tickets.
Thankfully, there are so many things to do in Paris, so we decided to visit L'Opera Garnier instead, and we loved it!

The glamorous Opera Garnier was commissioned by Emperor Napoleon III as part of his project to rebuild Paris. In 1860, a competition for the best design was conducted to build the new Paris Opera House.

The competition winner was Charles Garnier, a young and unknown architect who presented a highly eclectic project.

The Opera Palais Garnier was completed in 1874 and today is considered a masterpiece of Neo-Baroque Architecture and one of the most beautiful places to visit in Paris.

Do you want to eat like an Italian?​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​☕ 7:00 AM Breakfast
have a coffee (say "caffe'" and the barista will serve you an espresso) or a cappuccino (only in the morning!) with a pastry at the nearest bar (AKA a café): they are everywhere.

☕ 10:00 AM: It's time for a quick espresso at the counter (say 'Caffe'). Feel the morning's buzz as you join the locals in this invigorating ritual.

🍝1:00 PM Lunch time. You can have lunch in a restaurant or find a Bakery and grab a delicious pizza al trancio or focaccia and a fantastic pastry.

🍧 4:00 PM Gelato time. In addition to the bars, you can find gelaterias on every street corner.

🥂6:30 PM Aperitivo. This is a pre-dinner drink with nibbles to prepare your belly for dinner. Usually, the nibbles are included in the price of the drink.

🍷8:00 PM Dinner. This is the perfect time to dress up and have a lovely and relaxing dinner on a terrace al fresco.
Note that most restaurants do not open for dinner earlier than 7:30 p.m.

Will you be lost in translation, or is everyone in Europe speaking English?​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Every country in Europe speaks a different language. People in the travel business usually speak English but only assume that some people do.

I suggest downloading the Google Translate app and learning some basics, like saluting when entering a shop for politeness.
Remember, gestures and body language are a universal language. So, don't hesitate to use them to enhance your communication wherever you are in Europe and especially in Italy 🤌😉❤️

If you have never traveled to Europe, deciding your mode of transportation is essential.
Should you rent a car or use public transportation?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
First of all, traveling on Europe’s rails is fun and relaxing.
It allows you to enjoy the scenery and is a convenient, fast, frequent, and affordable mode of transportation.
European Rails coverage is comprehensive, and you will not have to deal with parking hassles, confusing road signs, speed limits or bathroom stops.
Note that seats are more comfortable and spacious compared to airline seats.

Renting a car must be considered when exploring rural areas.
Rest assured, most European cities and towns have a comprehensive network of public buses, Tramways, or subways.
Subways can cover a longer journey in less time, but buses and tramways allow you to enjoy the view.
I use Google Maps, choosing the transportation option instead of the car. However, if figuring out the schedule and maps is too complicated, often in the major cities, there are tourist buses that cover the most important sightseeing spots and where you can Hop on and hop off.

A perfect day spent strolling in this lovely village!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​At the gateway to Haute Provence and the hills of Var, near the Verdon gorges and the Lake of St. Croix, Barjols is set on a limestone cliff. It features 42 fountains and Historic buildings, including the 11th-century Collegiate Church.

Barjols did not embrace tourism and has retained many features and characteristics of French village life.

Walking around the village was like traveling in time.

Is it right to leave school for summer break before the last day?​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​During spring break, I purchased a good deal to fly to Europe with my daughters.
The problem was that we were leaving six days before the end of school.

The moms I know were shocked that I did that, and they looked at me like I was a little crazy 😅

Of course, as soon as the school opened after spring break, I emailed the principals and teachers to let them know and explain that we were not only visiting our families but also I think that traveling for children is a fantastic opportunity to learn while having fun.

For example, Mia and Lilou will improve their speaking skills in Italian and French because not everyone in Europe can speak English. On top of that, they will learn art, history, geography, and math (when converting for money or measures)

Luckily, Principals and teachers were very excited and happy for us, and they understood my point.

I am the luckiest daughter-in-law!!!!!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Not only are my in-laws amazing, but they also live in one of the most beautiful little villages in France.
Sanary-sur-Mer is a commune in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Southeastern France.
It is located in coastal Provence on the Mediterranean Sea, between Toulon and Marseille. It can be reached from Paris by TGV in less than four hours. In high season, direct flights are to nearby Toulon–Hyères Airport from London, Oslo, Brussels, and Rotterdam.
