Piazza Campo de Fiori is one of the few squares in central Rome
that does not have a church.
For this very reason, 🧐
a statue of Giordano Bruno
was placed in the center of the square.
Who knows why !😎😅

From today you pay the 🔖ticket to enter to visit the Pantheon
But paying a ticket isn't always something bad😅

✅30% of the ticket will go to the Curia (the Vatican),
which will allocate the amount to charitable works;
✅the rest goes to the City of Rome,
which has pledged to manage and protect the Piazza
where the monument stands

But how much does the ticket cost❓
The ticket + audio guide costs €15 per person
Open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

When you enter the Tapestry Room of the Vatican Museums,
you have the feeling that you are being watched.🧐

You are right, someone is staring at you 😅
Walk past the Tapestry of the Resurrection of Jesus
and look into the eyes of the Risen Christ.

Yes, he is the one staring at you as you walk into the room

Bust of Emperor Trajan ( - Greek cross room)

Marcus Ulpius Nerva 👑Traianus will go down in history as the "Optimus princeps", perhaps the best emperor known by Rome throughout its long history.

He's counted among the "5️⃣ Good Emperors" of the second century,
along with Octavian, Hadrian, Antoninus Pius and Marcus Aurelius.

Curiously he was born in 🇪🇸Spain, in the little village of Italica,
just near the present city of Seville.

However, the main branch of his family,
the Gens Ulpia, came from Umbria,
in particular from the village of Todi,
80 kilometers far from Rome (50 miles).

Trajan was vigorous and tall;
his hair was black, but soon grayed.
Serious and correct, he was a conservative who was able to be loved by all.
He loved the wine, without being an alcoholic❗️

But...don’t you notice its most evident feature❓
C'mon❗️ It's just so obvious❗️
Don’t you think he looks terribly like Russian President Putin⁉️🤨

I'll take you for a 👣walk inside one of the most striking places in Villa Adriana.
The Maritime Theater🏦

It was completely renovated and reopened to the public in 2017
A walk that takes you back in time,
it almost seems as if 👑Emperor Hadrian comes out
to take you for a walk in the middle of the little lake.

The small island sits right above a spring of water,
you can't see them but the lake is full of 🐟fish swimming in serenity

How many walks must the Emperor have taken here❓😎

As the saying goes here in Italy, "Prima il dovere, poi il piacere!"

Deposition by
👉( - Pinacoteca)

This work, realised between 1600 and 1604,
was commissioned by Girolamo Vittrice
for the family chapel in the church of
✨Santa Maria in Vallicella (Chiesa Nuova) in
to honour the memory of his uncle Pietro,
who had died in 1600.

An absolute masterpiece of Caravaggio's Roman period,
the painting was confiscated by the 🇫🇷 French in 1797
and taken to Paris,
from where it returned in 1817
and became part of the Vatican Picture Gallery.

Here we can admire one of the
fundamental characteristics of Caravaggio’s 🎨painting:
the light in the darkness😎

Starting this year there is a ☺wonderful new feature at the Roman Forum.
Since March it is possible to access
the open areas of the Roman Forum and Palatine
with small 🐶dogs.

Unfortunately, not all dogs can access,
for safety reasons:
both of the archaeological site,
and for the 😎safety of people and animals.

Only dogs weighing between 5 kg and 10 kg can access.

They cannot access enclosed areas,
but they can access all Outdoor spaces.

They still 🚫cannot enter inside the Colosseum and the Domus Aurea.

Admission for our best friends is 🤩free, and there are no surcharges.
Bring your best friend to ancient Rome with you🙃

The two ✨miracles of St. Agnes
The church overlooking Piazza Navona
is Sant'Agnese in Agone.

Legend has it that Agnes had taken a vow of chastity,
and because she refused to marry the son of the Prefect of Rome,
she was denounced as a ✝️Christian,
and brought out naked before the Roman people,
right where the church now stands,
in what is now Piazza Navona.

Her hair grew so fast that it covered her body,
and St. Agnes performed 2️⃣ miracles
✅The first miracle
a man approached and tried to touch her but died first,
and St. Agnes resurrected him.
✅The second miracle, was for the only one who dared to look at her,
who was blinded by a strong glow,
and St. Agnes made him recover his sight.

How many anecdotes in every corner of my city☺️😎

On April 7, 1300, Dante Alighieri,
the father of the 🇮🇹 Italian language,
began his journey to the afterlife,
which he describes in his "📜Comedia."

Dante called it simply "Comedia"
Do you know when the word "✨Divine"
was added in front of "Comedia"❓

The first printing of the 👉"Divine Comedy"
is 2 centuries later, in 1555

In his visionary journey
he first visit the 🔥Hell,
then Purgatory and finally arrive in ⭐️Paradise.

But have you ever wondered how long the journey Dante takes❓
Based on the directions left in the work
it seems that he left 🧳on April 7 and returned on April 15.
Bon voyage Dante ❗

When I studied the Divine Comedy in high school,
I had a teacher who, walking into the classroom,
closed the 📖book,
and recited from memory all the Cantos😎
I forgot to tell you ....
back then my teacher was over 70 years old 😳😏😁
