🎨 Last weekend we tried for you a fantastic guided tour organized by the cultural project "Romolo e Remo": a journey to discover the art and life of Caravaggio!
👨‍🎨 Through breathtaking works housed in the Church of San Luigi dei Francesi and the Church of Sant'Agostino, we were fascinated by the mastery of this great genius and artist. Thanks to the passionate guide Tiziana, we were able to immerse ourselves in an exciting path that also touched the inns, the shops, and even the house where Caravaggio lived. A two-hour experience that gave us new perspectives on the life and works of one of the greatest painters in history.
🖌 If you are art enthusiasts or if you simply want to live a unique cultural experience, we highly recommend participating in this unforgettable tour!

We have tried for you the Circo Maximo Experience: a unique, fun and captivating experience through which we relived all the historical phases of one of the most significant monuments of Rome thanks to augmented and virtual reality.
With innovative interactive visualization technologies never used before in such a large outdoor area, we immersed ourselves in the life of the ancient valley, strolled through shops of ancient Rome, and witnessed a chariot race amidst cheers and overturned carts, in a continuous connection between past and present.
The experience lasts about 40 minutes, unfolds over 8 stages covering the evolution of the Circo Massimo from antiquity to modern times, and is available in 8 languages. The quality offered by the immersive visors is comparable to the best seat in the front row of a theater and is designed to be comfortably worn even with glasses. The earphones are stereophonic. The visit with the visor is accessible even to deaf people thanks to simplified subtitles in Italian or English.
In our opinion, it's an engaging experience that should not be missed!

You don't need watches when you're in Rome! And do you know why? Because the daily roar of the Cannone del Gianicolo (Janiculum Hill Cannon) is the natural alarm that marks the hours in the Eternal City!

In Rome, there is indeed a tradition that has been ringing loud for over a century. I'm not talking about ancient monuments or bustling squares... but something even more explosive! I'm talking about the Janiculum Hill Cannon, a piece of history that greets the city every day at noon with a bang that spreads like the heartbeat of Rome.

Imagine sipping your coffee on our terrace, in the quiet of a sunny morning when... BOOM! The brief echo that follows reminds you that you are in the heart of the city that has written the History.

Located on the Janiculum Hill, the Cannon has such a powerful voice that can be heard up to about 6 km away! An experience that adds a special touch to the memory of your visit to the Eternal City.

The traditional firing of the Cannon has deep roots. It was established in 1847 by Pope Pius IX. Initially, the intent was to synchronize all the bell towers in the city, thus providing a unified signal for noon. Since then, except for rare interruptions, the daily bang has become a constant in the lives of Romans, surviving wars and changing eras, until it has become one of the most fascinating and characteristic rituals of Rome.

In modern times, the Cannon no longer fires bullets, but the tradition of firing blanks has been maintained, as a symbol of historical continuity that binds the generations. Placed at the highest point of the Janiculum Hill, the Cannon is the custodian of time and memory of Rome.

Don't miss the appointment with the history! Travel with us through the timelessness of Rome and let the Janiculum Hill Cannon mark a memorable moment of your day. Through this ancient rite, every day you will be connected not only to the time but to a story that continues to live through the sound and energy of a timeless city.

From Circo Massimo Apartment & Terrace, a 45-minute walk separates you from the thrill of the Janiculum Hill Cannon's daily firing. Stroll through picturesque Trastevere and immerse yourself in Rome's green oases; your journey to a piece of history is also a feast for the eyes.

At Circo Massimo Apartment & Terrace, we have decided to fully embrace Italian tradition. That's why in our kitchen you won't find an Espresso machine, but instead the classic and timeless Moka pot!

"Why the Moka pot?" you might ask. Simple:

1️⃣ **Authenticity**: We want to offer you the most authentic experience possible. Every sip of coffee prepared with the Moka pot will transport you to a typical Italian café, where time seems to stand still, and the flavors tell a centuries-old story.
2️⃣ **Sustainability**: The Moka pot is an icon of eco-friendly design. No single-use capsules, just ground coffee and water. This way, we reduce waste and respect our magnificent planet.
3️⃣ **Ritual**: Making coffee with the Moka pot is a true ritual that engages all the senses. The characteristic gurgle signals that a special moment is about to begin, and the spectacle of the coffee slowly rising will make you fall in love with this ancient morning ritual.
4️⃣ **Intense Flavor**: Coffee made with the Moka pot has a rich and full-bodied taste, a flavor that cannot be replicated by any capsule. It is the quintessential Italian experience!

At Circo Massimo Apartment & Terrace, you will immerse yourself in the culture of our country, starting with a good cup of coffee in the morning.
We are looking forward to hosting you!

The Non-Catholic Cemetery of Rome, also known as Protestant Cemetery or Cemetery of the Artists, is a quiet and poetic corner that often escapes the eye of the hurried tourist among the myriad historical beauties that adorn the city of Rome.

Located near the Cestius Pyramid, this place of eternal rest boasts a history that spans through the centuries. Since the 1700s, it has been the final resting place for non-Catholics, many of whom were part of the foreign artistic and intellectual elite attracted to the Eternal City.

Walking along its shaded pathways, you can find the tombs of prominent figures in the history of art and literature, including:

- the English romantic poet John Keats, whose epitaph does not mention his name but carries a poignant reflection on his misunderstood art: "Here lies One Whose name Was writ in Water";
- Percy Bysshe Shelley, whose heart, according to legend, was retrieved after his cremation on the beach of Viareggio and buried here;
- the antiquarian and poet Edward Trelawny, a friend of Shelley and Byron, who wrote touching epitaphs for his companions;
- the iconic sculptor William Story and his wife Emelyn, whose tomb is a work of art in itself: the Angel of Grief is a true masterpiece sculpted by Story in memory of his wife;
- Carlo Emilio Gadda, an Italian poet and writer among the greatest innovators of 20th-century fiction.

This cemetery not only offers a place to commemorate past lives but also a space for reflection on the beauty and fragility of life.

Whether you are a history enthusiast, an art lover, or simply seeking peace, the Non-Catholic Cemetery of Rome is a must-visit. Every day, it confirms itself as one of the most precious and least-known treasures of the capital.
